I don't use extra mirrors when towing though I do have a small wide angle one mounted to each mirror that I used to use when commuting. This mine showing the trailer and you can see the trailer is below mirror height.

Not even this guy has mirrors; granted he has a wing and the trailer is fairly high..........we took this one at the Coles Express Truck Stop on the highway about 14 km south of Karratha.

Dose that mean that extra mirrors are not needed because you can see over the trailer?

Mate of mine suggested a cheap reverse camera rigged up to constant on with small screen up on dash. Save hassle of putting extra mirrors on just for the odd trip and having to assist etc. Leave camera on trailer at all times and just plug in. :-)

I can see the road behind me without needing to adjust the OEM mirrors when I need to tow the trailer. If anything I can only just see the top rear corners of the trailer in each mirror so in reality the trailer is almost a non-event as far as blocking the normal view in the mirror.

I tow an Elite camper behind the ST without issue, but I have put small blind spot mirrors on the rear view mirrors on the ST. Works a treat.....

Maybe ST2UP is planning on a proper trailer, i.e. a van, and needs those mirror extensions you see cobbled onto the existing mirrors of Land Cruisers.  He does things in a big way, the Boss.    :grin

The tent section of my camper is just at mirror height and being 1.2m wide makes seeing a bit difficult. Will work on camera idea i think. Trying to nut out how to make it record as well so I can dual purpose it as a crash cam. Would love to find camera setup for 2 remote cameras that would record continuously to 1 box like my nvr at home does. Oh well ... something to Google in my spare time.
Here is pic of my camper on bike.

You can see mirrors align with camper top.
