Title: A Bed, Shed and get Fed
Post by: ST2UP on July 12, 2013, 12:20:32 PM
Thought I would commence an informal thread where we can advise if we may be in a position to provide the occassional overnight accomodation to a member who is touring around the country side.

Imagine if your on a budget and how the ocassional nights accomodation and meal could even extend your trip of a life time, not to mention the fellowship of other Honda ST owners.

A couple of things to keep in mind;

1) This is NOT an extension of the RAN network and they are separate entities.

2) Just basic details of your Location and hospitality available

3) Make contact via PM between members

4) Peoples circumstances can change and your arrangments may need to change

5) OzSToc and its Founding members or Mods are not responsible for your house guest breaking your great Grandmothers best china tea cup.......or worse etc.

So if your happy post below:

So ST2UP & Pocket STocker:

Guyra NSW (New England Hwy)

Spare Queen Bedroom with ensuite
Lockup shed and a hot meal

cheers

Having been the grateful recipient of two very welcoming OZSTOC hosts during our recent Grand Lap (Sorry Chris, we came down the coast but thanks for your offer anyway!) we would be remiss is we did not offer a Sydney stop with dinner, queen bed, your own bathroom and secure parking for the ST to any Ozstocers doing the lap. We know how much we appreciated it.

Can offer  garage, bed and a feed if Mrs Skip is home. It's a 2 minute walk to the local if my culinary skills appear life threatening. No mechanical skills available.
Just north of Brissy, 5 minutes off the highway.

The Gong (Wollongong) is ideally situated just south of Sydney. It is blessed by  beautiful natural features and well worth a visit.

Am in the middle of putting a new floor in downstairs but when that is finished, in about 4 weeks, there will b room for 2 singles or a double and single and good home-made food.   :hatwave

Thought I had already added Willetton to this thread but apparently not.
Bed, shed and feed available at Willetton. Feed will always depend on what the cook is doing.
Shed is full of tools. Close to good public transport to Perth city.
Only problem is finding me at home but pm and ask.

Good idea. Bit late tonight, but i should be able to add a layer to the RTE map.

I'm heading down to Canberra in Stop for the Wall to Wall and have accommodation sorted there, but planning on going from there to Vic and bimbling around and then making my way via Ballarat to Balranald RTE probably arriving on the Friday.

Can anyone put me up for a night in the Albury/Wodonga area or north western Vic?

On the way back from Balranald, I might take a trip via West Wyalong and Guyra if those offers are still available.

Well I wasn't happy with my 81 yr old shed which could hold two bikes but space was very limited, leaked, full of dust, no under cover parking outside the shed, concrete floor had perished  :cuss - it was no place to keep an ST, let alone be able to do any work on it.  :fp
We had been planing for 8 years and saved up for a couple of years. After a good couple of years on the share market the shed morphed into this :-

I deduce the two sheds down the back will stay.
Now I'm suffering deep shed-envy.

When I sold the business (did I mention I retired on Monday 9th?  :grin) I lost my shed.
This Friday I take delivery of a garden shed, and when that's in place, I will get to work on a replacement workshop/shed.

Would any one with in maybe a day of SOT have room to park van & ute for a fortnight

Got room here in St Helena, but may depend on size of van, and driver’s reversing skills.
Ah thanks for the quick reply van is 8.5 m from tow hitch to back bumper
As for reversing skills bloody AWSOME (that's the standed male reply) 😊

There's plenty of space length wise, width is approximately 2.6m.  I better go and check.

This what you got to work with:

Use to get our old van down there easily, but that was an older, narrower type, and my skills were shyte.

What I'll do is park the Ford Ranger in there, take a pic and also get a proper measurement.

Just measured paling fence to brick wall - 2650mm.

Mmmmm, 140mm clearance, if you're good enough you can get it "in", but then you won't be able to get "into" the van (if that's necessary).

Yer would be a tight   Though it is good to have a plan B  I might reask the question and see if there is another option
Thank you for the photos and the effort 👍

It's good that a man knows his limits.  Yeah, put the question out there again, if a better option arises - all good.

In the meantime (and there is plenty of it to Nov), a good mate has some rural acres just north of Whittlesea township, I'll ask him.  To provide some context: https://goo.gl/maps/XgDW2VALfQ42.  I'm in St Helena, at the blue dot about halfway.

Following up from a phone call our place looks a better option. Space wise.

I thought I'd listed our place here, but apparently not. With the National rally coming up later this year some members might like to extend their stay in SA.
Glenalta SA, southern foothills 12km from Adelaide.
Shed and tools. Up to 2 bedrooms with Queens/Double (depends on when our son's house renovations finish and his junk gets moved out). Walking distance to railway station (with bonus free travel if you have the Seniors card!!).
PM or call
Cheers Mark & Julie

Just to clarify, anyone with a valid Australian state or territory seniors card can use Adelaide Metro for free for 14 days in a row, under the same time and fare rules as South Australian members. This excludes National Seniors Card, Seniors Business Discount Card and New Zealand SuperGold Card.  You'll also have to take you card to one of handful of places to collect your 14 day pass.

Thanks Bodo, I didn't know that - I should have realised the bureaucracy would need to muddy the waters.

Interstate ones don't have the Adelaide Metro system in their magnetic strips so don't register on the machine.
