Not much I can put here as We usually use the local cafe/take-away shops (KFC etc if available) or buy it in the supermarket and fix it our ourselves. I miss the Pizza Hut Restaurants, we used to go there once a week at least.

Your Experience:

Heather and I stayed here sometime ago when returning by car from Perth. Nice and clean cheap motel style accommodation in a budget cabin. They had restaurant but we went to the Mobil Truck Stop which was just a short walk away.

I stayed there on my last trip back across by bike as I couldn't be bothered looking for a camp for the night.

Last weekend I rode from Adelaide to Wilcannia to check out the Darling River (in March it was 0.0 metres and a national disgrace, on Saturday it was over 6.5 metres and well worth the ride) with a couple of mates. On the way I stayed at the Palace Hotel Broken Hill and the Railway Hotel Peterborough (it was a quick trip and I didn't want the bother of tents etc.). This is my report on the two establishments - both of which I'd recommend.

Location: Peterborough, 221 Main Street.

Business Name: Railway Hotel/Motel

Google Map:

Railway Hotel/Motel (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=Railway Hotel/Motel +5422)

Your Experience: Good. Stayed in single hotel rooms which had been renovated 3 weeks earlier and they had done an excellent job - new everything. A single room was $65 although one of the older single rooms could have been had for $50. This included locking the bikes away in a garage for no extra cost (Geoff the publican owned an HD - we didn't hold that against him - he was very biker friendly). The meals were standard pub tucker, good quality and large serves.

Your Experience: Good. This is the Priscilla Queen of the Desert Hotel, interesting murals on the walls, 2-up on Friday nights (but not this Friday night because most had disappeared to Silverton for the Outback Ball. The hotel single rooms were adequate, each room had a basin and running water. Cost was $55 plus $5 for a lock up garage for the bike. Dining room was expensive so we had a meal across the road at the Barrier Social Democratic Club - reasonable pub fare at a reasonable price - things were generally expensive in Broken Hill

Called in there for lunch a few weeks ago. Traditional bakery items like pies and pasties plus coffee. Larger than it looks from the street as there's a dine in room to the rear of the shop front.
