Title: 17mm Fork Cap & Rear Axle tool
Post by: Abe on February 28, 2013, 01:56:52 PM
I have made several different sizes and lengths over the years, for various jobs that needed to be done.

This tool suits my 1994 1100 (non ABS)

17mm end fits into the rear axle (nearside) and it also fits the fork caps.

22mm Bolt head with a 17mm nut welded to the end

Nice welds.

I lashed out and bought a 17mm Allen key- cost $25 from memory, so yours is a good alternative.

Me too.  If you can't weld, locking 2 nuts on the 17mm bolt will also do.

I just used a 12mm bolt 150mm long, with 17mm head and bent it at 90 degrees about 2" from the head. Have tool to fit fork cap nut and handle in one go.
