Hey guys.
So, I have finally settled with the people who merged into me and made me get intimate with the road. I am now selling my beautiful ST1100 in bits.
I have a few auctions going on the stuff I have put up so far for those interested in such things.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141413355063?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141413355063?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) OEM Mufflers
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141415383834?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141415383834?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) Tank cover and bag
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141415388197?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141415388197?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) Custom seat
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141416188065?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141416188065?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) Honda top box
A few more items will probably go up soon, including the staintunes. I have put all these prices at the lowish end of what I have seen similar things go for.
Also, if anyone needs bits, let me know. It was in a front end and went down hard on its right side, so don't expect much from the front and front right, but most other bits aren't too bad.
Have a good one and keep riding!

Sorry for loss. (Now where I have heard that before?)
How about the LH side case?
Mine had a minor roo strike a few years ago and I zigged when I should have zagged when backing the bike and struck a support for a carport roof. The case is still usable but a new one is really needed.
A used one in the same colour as yours is just as good.
-
LH side pannier is fine. Just haven't got around to putting that one up yet. RHS one is smegged.
-
Hey Shaun, I'm interested in the LH mirror and shroud should you happen to take that off at some stage.
Cheers!
Nate
-
Nate: I'll have a look when I get home what sort of nick it's in and whether it is easy enough to remove.
-
Thanks Shaun, most appreciated mate..

Sorry for your loss :'( :'( :'(
Would you sell the tank cover and bag direct, or do I have to go through ebay? Would you post it to me in Darwin?
Cheers
-
Nate: I have the cover and mirror off, the cover has a scratch just on the edge, but nothing is broken and it came off nice and clean. PM me an offer.
Wendy: Someone has placed a bid so I would feel rotten cancelling it. Feel free to jump in. I could potentially organise postage for that as it is reasonably compact.
-
You wouldn't read about it, I just missed out again. I needed the left mirror and blinker cover, bugger. :'(
Shaun you also mentioned highway pegs, can you post a picture? and what you had in mind for them?
Ruben
-
Nate: I'll have a look when I get home what sort of nick it's in and whether it is easy enough to remove.
:dred11
Shaun would you like some help dismantling your ST. I could come in and offer help if you are not confident STripping it down.
-
Rubencan: yeah sorry mate just moved those on. As for the highway peg, the right hand one is inside the coolant tank atm, wouldn't trust them.
Jonny: thanks but it's ok. It's like therapy :)
-
Shaun,
We must all seem like vultures hovering over the corpse of your dearly departed ST trying to get what pieces we all need, so here's my question.
What condition is your rear shock in?
Cheers,
Hendo
-
Hi Shaun
What shape is the engine in, and will you be selling it at some point?
Laurie
-
Hendo: Nah, its cool, at least it is going to a better place(s). Um, rear shock...Yeah felt fine to me. It isn't stock though, it's a Yacugar.
Laurie: Yeah, once I dig down that far. Engine was running well, had actually just changed oil argh. I ran it for a few seconds not long after the accident to make sure it went, and it went.
-
Just to update, things gone so far:
- rear shock
- footrest pads
- LH pannier
- LH mirror
- lowered seat
- stock toolkit
Soon to be gone (auctions or negotiated):
- stock pipes
- staintune pipes
- top box
- tankbag and tank cover
- left hand cowling + pocket
Anything from the front is no good and I wouldn't want to give to anyone (front wheel has a rim dent, forks are bent, etc)
The rest is being revealed and either chucked or cleaned up as I go. Some of the tupperware seems ok also if anyone needs to replace panels.
Cheers, Shaun
-
Well everyone has already muttered the sorry's and such so i will get straight to the Vulcher bit.
Would the Right side mirror and cover be serviceable still and available.
PS...That's a real bitch about losing your loved one by the way.

No, sorry, it bore the brunt of the bike's weight and got smashed up good. It was binned a good while ago.
-
Shaun
Sorry for the loss...sad.
Would the left hand cowl and pocket be in a useable condition? If so what would you want for it?
-
Let me know if this is what you mean:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8afPCfmqYTKOWxwZ1ljQ21SMEU/view?usp=sharing
If so, it is undamaged.

That's the bit . What would you want for it?
-
Don't suppose the crash bar covers are available for both left and right sides, if so, 0458219058 anytime
-

Sorry, no, they were damaged. At any rate, they had been cut open to accommodate the highway pegs
-
Thanks for the reply Shaun, it was just a long shot, I located a pair on E Bay new for $80 so I will take that option, must say, Its sad to see a cycle end up in all directions around the country but one must admit, people survive on transplants as well

No problems,
In some ways I would prefer the parts to go to places where they are needed than just sitting there looking sorry in the garage. Probably why I am an organ donor :D

It's easier to send a pic so how are two grey pieces that are in the pic. The stickers have long gone on mine.

Also between the forks there's a metal plate that both pieces of the fender mount to. Nothing wrong with mine except that on one side the rubber that the rear fender locates on is missing and you need to replace the whole part just for one little bit of rubber.
The only other two items of interest for me would be the black panel surrounding the instruments and the clear lens that sits behind it.
But it's no big deal if I get any of it or not though to fix the failed fuel warning light on mine the fuel pump would be ok to have but I have fix for the light so that's no drama either.

Alan:
Let me know if this is the piece you are referring to:

Item seven in the parts diagram.....it's a pressed metal plate. Apart from being used to mount the fender pieces it also helps keep the lower forks apart

Yes that's the piece.

Shaun,
We have Beefa (AKA Ian) at minto that has a stuffed Voltage Regulator Rectifier and more than likely also a stuffed 28amp stator.
How much would your 40amp alternator and wiring that goes to the 50amp fuse cost. I'd be happy to help pulling it out as I have the tools for the removal of the swing arm to get to the alternator.
rear tyre, swing arm and exhausts need to come out and we'd have to put back in for you so that you can still move the bike around. Would take a few hours to complete.
-
PMing :)

Shaun,
What is the frame like and can it be registered? How much do you want for it.thinking of making a project bike. Flathead v8.
Cheers Adam
-
Frame and guts is about all that is left. Register? I can't imagine how.
-
Hi Shaun, it's a long shot but how is the radiator?
-
Frame and guts is about all that is left. Register? I can't imagine how.
He may be checking that the frame is in good condition- i.e. not damaged beyond being repaired to a safe registerable standard.
-
Oh, ok.
Well, it was a fairly minor glancing hit at around 40. The only structural bits that got bent out of shape were the front forks and the right hand side crash bar. I would think that everything else is fine. Basically it was the cost of the fork replacement and tupperware that took it over cost of replacement :(
And front radiator is undamaged. It has a "Radguard" cover on it also.
-
Shaun,as long as the bike wasn't a written off so it couldn't be repaired I could get it rego. The frame needs not to be bent cheers adam
-
Shaun,
This is a long shot. Do you still have the small grey inspection covers (One on each side) that sit at about knee high on the fairing that contains the pockets. If so, I'd be intersted and can fix you up on the weekend.
Ruben
-
The bike was never officially written off. The claim for damages was done privately and all I did was deregister the bike.
Rubencan: Sorry, the right hand side inspection cover was lost weeks before the accident, and the left hand one, while still there and intact, is part of the left cowling assembly that I have put aside for Grumpy.
-
No problems Shaun, Thanks anyway. See you at Greenwell Point Bowls on Sunday

Radiator is intact and in good nick. There were no leakages in the radiator unit and was still holding fluid up until the point I disconnected the hoses just now. Also in the pic is the radguard cover I had over the top to protect it from strikes.
Cheers, Shaun

Alans1100:
I have that bracket loose and it looks to have all rubbers intact and looks ok.
Problem is, I can't get the damn thing out. Is there a way to slide the bracket out without resorting to removing the front wheel (which in it's current state I can't do at the moment)? It just doesn't seem to want to come out no matter how I align it with respect to the forks.

The only time this part is normally removed is during fork seal replacement. The wheel would have to come out for that piece to be removed as the brake lines prevent the piece being moved up so just leave it for now and wait until you are able to get the front wheel removed.
In case you weren't aware just above the RH calliper is the delay valve between RH and LH callipers and the secondary master cylinder on the LH fork. That's why so many brake lines are between LH and RH in there as it's all interconnected.
-
Ok no problems, it can await getting the front wheel off.
Cheers

:wht11 py
Do you still have the rear brake pedal assembly including fluid reservoir
also on the front right lower fork there is an assembly at the bottom where the brake caliper bolts on
http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-front-fork-st1100py.html (http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-front-fork-st1100py.html)
I require the complete assembly that bolts onto the side of the fork please.

By way of update... :(
(https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/82297107/IMG_20141027_162859.jpg)
The thing now looks like a damn uncomfortable hoverbike from Star Wars Ep 6.
Tipsy: I have that assembly but I am not overly comfortable with parting with it, in case it received a blow in the collision. The right hand side was the side that copped it the most. I would hate for you to get it and it is compromised in some way, like a hairline fracture or something else.
I will check on rear brake assembly + reservoir to make sure it is in good shape and let you know.
Alans1100: I have that part off now, it looks in good shape as far as I can see.

I think you mean the anti-dive unit which on yours would be the lower LH fork. There's a spring inside that unit which is under compression so take care in removing it. Not sure if it would fit as the ABS has a different part number.
Item 39 http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-front-fork-st1100a1.html (http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-front-fork-st1100a1.html)

:wht11 py
I can check it out mate as I want to extend or have an extra brake pedal forward on my h/way peg.
as for the antidive unit I only need the 2 outside parts /rubber sleeve and piston, but happy to take it all.
numbers may differ but parts look the same.

Sorry, but I have discarded the rear brake pedal and assembly. I noticed a small crack in the pedal and in the metal section it attached to, and thought it prudent that I chuck it.

Evenin' Shaun...
Sorry bout the delay in getting back to you re: rear wheel and final drive, the owner of the bike I'm working on has decided to buy relacements parts and I have decided to take the challenge and machine off the damaged wheel flange and fit a replacement collar.
Thank you nonetheless for making the effort and sending my the photos.
Regards, Dick :-)
-
Hey, no problems!
I needed to get all that kit off to start getting at the alternator anyway.
I just need to figure out the rest now :P
-
I am now at the point where I want to move the rest of the bike on.
I know some of you have been interested in the meatier parts of the bike, such as the alternator, engine, swing arm, wheels and frame, and these are now up for grabs.
I will give you all first right of refusal before I put the rest up on eBay. :)
Cheers, Shaun
-
Shaun,
Let me know how much you want for the frame
Cheers Adam
-
Hi Shaun,
What condition are the splines/final drive like and how much?
Cheers
Tokhi
-
AJ1300:
I am not sure what to ask for the frame, eBay and used/new prices online are incredibly variable. I really don't want to rip anyone off. That said, all this is going into paying myself off for the new bike, so I don't want to rip myself off either! Something at the low end of what others are asking is fine by me. It is slow work getting to the point where I have a frame sitting there ready to go. I lack some confidence at pulling things apart this far into the bike so work is very slow.
Tokhi:
The splines look ok, not a great deal of wear on them, they were nicely lubed when I pulled them apart so the last person to have it off seems to have known what they were doing. I have some photos somewhere which I will get up soon. The ride was very smooth prior to the bingle, so everything was working ok. I really miss the shaft drive. Again, it is slow work getting these things off as I am being quite careful, due to my ignorance of the workings this far into the bike.
Cheers, Shaun
-
HI Shaun,
would you still have the cartridge fork internals available? I assume that is the LHS for late model (not anti-dive side). I want all parts other than the spring.
Regards
Garry
-
Afraid not, sorry.
-
Rear is a Metzeler Roadtech Z6.
Front rim has a small dent but tyre has continued to maintain pressure since the accident.

How many km on engine and what price are you looking for thanks Shaun
-
104k, and was faultless in performance. 2001 model.
As for price, no real guidance online. There are, however, several interested parties.
-
Hi Shaun,
1. Is the headlight still available? How much?
2. Do you intend selling the tires with the rims or are you willing to sell just the tires?
3. If so what would you want for the Metzelers front & back?
Piet

If you mean the headlight assembly, then no. I salvaged the headlight lamps though, lol
I am happy to sell just the tyres. I would have to go to a tyre place to get them off but that's not really much of a problem.
I have a larger problem of some people wanting the frame, others wanting the engine, and me not really knowing how to get one off from the other. :)
-
Hi Shaun,
I am not sure if I am doing this right but here goes.
Do you have the left hand side mirror cowl (cover) and maybe the right hand side air intake hose that runs down to the motor
-
Hi Shaun, Thanks for letting me know. I was after the headlight itself as opposed to the bulbs. What do you want for the tires?
-
David: No, sorry I have neither of those items any more. They went quite a while ago. it seems a lot of people seem to be losing mirror housings :)
Piet: I will PM you.

Just following up our chat from yetserday. Do you still have the left switch block (blinkers/horn) and how much would you be looking at for the unit?
Thanks
Ruben

Ruben:
I will open it up to check its condition, but yeah it is a Honda replacement part because the original went all crappy inside.
I will pm once I have had a look.

Hi Shaun,
Would you still have the bracket assembly that holds the right hand side pannier on ? if so how much would you want for it ? also the spring that holds the pannier flap open or closed.
Cheers Jim

Received your message Shaun relating to spare parts, mate, my ST1100 project has now been completed, including a color matching trailer, the only items I need to purchase are the two front crash bar covers, boy that cycle sure does look sad in the photo, Regards
-
Piet: I will have a look this afternoon and pass it along if I locate it and it's in good nick.
Muf: Yeah, it's looked better, that's for sure.
-
Piet: got it off no problems. It's in good order.

Do you still have the black plastic that surrounds the gauges and the clear plastic gauge cover which is part of the instrument cluster.
You can see the heat damage to mine below the temp gauge which happened while I was living in at Port Hedland and Karratha...

Alan: I have exposed the black cover and perspex shielding but I can't for the life of me see how to get the thing off. There are no obvious bolts. It is in good shape, but I would hate to damage it by removing it stupidly.
I will take my time removing it, so I hope you aren't in a mad rush :)
-
Not in a rush Shaun.....
I think you need to remove the instrument cluster before it is able to be separated..........
Looks like four bolt points.......in the photo I took of mine a couple years ago. One each side up top, one down next to clock and one near the headlight adjuster.

Alan:
I was able to get the instrument cover and perspex off, and was also able to retain the rubber gasket that lines it. If your cover suffered heat damage then it may be a good idea to swap that gasket over too.

Let me know if it suits.
PS, the stuff on the RHS of the cover is just velcro, I had it there to hold a thermometer. :)

Shaun I can in no way confirm if I will be picking up some sort of package on the door step soon with some sort of switch in it. Haha
;-*
-
Gidday, thinking of removing my fairing lowers to give more leg room but don't want to cut my grey fairing panels because I'll restore it when I sell it. Do you have the grey panels that run from the cubbies down the back of the fairing? Don't need to be perfect, don't need lids. Col, palmwoods, 0403 034 334

Do you still have the voltage regulator
-
Flash: I have the switch off. I had to cut the cabling to the red harness to get it out due to some rather nasty tangling heading into the frame. The switch block itself is intact and looking good. I also have the rest of the wire harness and it won't be that hard to reconnect. Let me know if you are still interested.
cojomo: Yes, still have both. PM me please :)
Jglan10: Possibly. Where do I find that guy, then? :)
-
Beside the battery
-
Hi Shaun. Definitely still want it.
Do you still have the left hand peg mount?
-
Jglan10: Sorry, that piece is gone.
Flash: No problem, I will put the switch block and cabling to one side for you. I will also have a sift through to see whether I have the left hand peg mount.
-
Do you have the abs system still
-
Shaun,
Do you have the clutch assembly still on the engine, Kevin Murphy may have need of the parts...

Jglan10: Some of the ABS sensors have been removed from memory. As for the ABS unit itself, I still have both the front and rear modulator assemblies.
Brock: I still have the whole clutch assembly. Its removal may be beyond my levels of confidence however. I did read about KM's situation and I would be happy to help however I can.
-
Hi Shaun,
Do you still have the black plastic (has HONDA on it) that sits between the Headlight and windscreen? While I was doing the driving lights I noticed one of the tabs on mine was missing.
-
alans1100: Do you mean this miraculously undamaged part?

Hi Shaun,
Just wondering if you still have the rear brake caliper bracket available for sale ... or even the bracket along with the caliper. If would you mind sending me a PM letting me know what you would like for bracket alone or bracket/caliper combination?
Thanks,
Piet
-
PM sent. Entire assembly is available.
Made some minor edits to equipment post above.

Shaun when do you want me to come and pickup the modules
-
Hi Shaun,
Do you still have the rear drive spline, the one with the 5 pins that inserts into the cush rubbers?
It is item 9 in the attached picture. If so how much do you want for it and what is the condition of the splines?
Piet.

Sorry Jglan, been off with the fairies lately :)
If you still need the bits, let me know and we can organise a pickup time.
-
I'm looking after my sisters kids this weekend maybe during the week
-
Welcome back Shaun!
Still have the switch block? Lol
-
Yeah mate, still have it. It's just been sitting in my small parts box, block and cabling.
I just found myself with some rare time this morning, and I was able to sort and clean around the area where my bike is. I am quite keen to get the rest of it moved on now :)

Ok guys, I have bitten the bullet and I am listing the remains (the large bits, engine, frame, swingarm etc) of the bike on ebay.
Let me know if any of you are desperate for any of those things. :)
-
Oh and sorry Reuben, I was going to ring you during the holidays about dismembering the rest of the bike, but on the last Friday of term, I managed to do a grade 2 tear of my left calf. Playing a staff vs students game. :thumbsup
Only just really started coming good. :||||

Ok, newbie question. I'll try my luck. What condition is the fuel tank that's not a fuel tank but you still put petrol in bit like?

G'day Shaun.
Was there a Honda topbox plate that went with that topbox?
I have a genuine Honda ST1100 topbox but no attachment plate.

Just wondering, did the fan go with the radiator? I may be chasing one...
-
How about the right side fork? I'm chasing one as mine is leaking even after changing the seals for genuine ones.
-
how about an interocitor? 8) :o

LOL, the ST's have a lot of gadgets but not an interocitor, at least I don't think so :eek
(I didn't even know of the interocitor's existence, it was very interesting reading up on them :thumbsup)
