I am narrowing down my final choices for replacing my stock ST1300 windscreen.
I am tiered of the buffeting noise, wind in my eyes and side wind pushing...
I ride with a "Shark VisionR" helmet with the visor 3/4 open and eyes about 10 cm over the top of the screen.
the shipping fees to Aus are significant and it irkes me that shipping is so costly.... I guess I am a tight :butt haha :rofl
I have narrowed selection to "Bike Quip" from UK ($270) or "CeeBaily" from the US ($260)
Has anyone fit or had any experience with the "7jurock" company from the US?

I have a CalSci screen which was on the bike when I bought it, so I don't know how it compares with other makes, but I have no issues with it. I always wear earmold earplugs though so the noise is greatly reduced . . . I want to preserve what little hearing I have left . . . And my sight too . . Some refer to me as that "one eyed, deaf old Bustard"
I have had Eagle screens on my 1100 and found them to be quite good too . . . They are manufactured in Perth.
Both Calsci and Eagle make a variety of sizes and tints.

Hi zevk. here is a link to my comments on a CalSci screen I fitted to my ST back in 2012.
It makes it a bit easier to handle the postage costs if u include the heated grips if u need them.

I'm a big fan of the Bike Quip, I went with the 2" higher and wider and with a light tint :thumbsup
There are a few members that have gone with the Bike Quip screen and are also very happy with it ;-*

Do you know which manufacture makes the windscreen from Polycabonate material?
My research shows Bike Quip, Clear View, Cee Baily and 7Jurock are ALL made from "Aircraft high impact Acrylic.
1/4 inch thickness for all except Clearview which is 3/16 inch.
I agree that Polycarb is the lightest and toughest (unbreakable) material BUT scratches easy if it does not have an acrylic scratch resistant coating to it.

Just spoke to peter from screens for bikes. He quoted 200 aud for 50 mm taller and wider screen including lip on top. Clear or light tint 4.5 mm thickness acrylic 10 year material warranty 1 week to manufacture. 04112 102029. Has anyone purchased from screens for bikes in the past. Any advice welcomed.

Had a summer screen made by Peter at screens for bikes.....workmanship and service was great, he accidenlty put the wrong tint on screen and picked it up in his Q&A process prior to dispatch......contacted me and advised would be a couple day delay as he wasn't happy......even though it was only a shade difference and I wouldn't known the difference. :thumbsup

I used Screens for Bikes for my ST1100, his advise was fantastic, and the screen was excellent quality.
Once I get a few more dollars, I will be getting a new screen for the ST1300 and the ZZr250 from him

Looks more likely I will go with "Screens for Bikes" after speaking to the owner Peter, he advised I gaffa tape a few cardboard (shoe box) pieces to the stock screen and ride as a trial.
I have shaped a 5 cm piece with a lip (like "bike quip") to the top of the screen and another 3 cm extension to widen the width.
I will ride on the weekend to trial it and then will place an order for $200 if all works as expected...

Hi Shiney and other BikeQuip shield owners!
I am considering a bikequip or copy of this design with a slight flip on top.
Does the "flip" area distort the vision considerably or is it still usable? :think1
I mostly peer just over the top lip of the shield, but locationally look thru it as well....

With the BikeQuip screen there is a narrow strip of distortion just below the curve of the lip. However, when riding it is not noticeable, and is not an issue at all. It is clearly not dangerous. I set my screen at the lowest setting that puts me in still air, and at that height I am looking well over the top of the screen, and can ride with my visor open and have no wind at all in my face at any speed. Because it works so well at creating a bubble of still air for the rider, it is a little hotter on high temp days.
My biggest beef with the OEM screen was the terrible and relentless wind noise. The BikeQuip screen is fantastic, and cuts noise to the point where it I don't really need ear plugs, even a high speed (but wear them anyway to preserve what's left of my hearing). It's a well proven design, which is used and recommended by many OzSTOC members. I'd be reluctant to go with an unproven adaption of another brand of screen.
Try to get your hands on a bike that has one fitted and take it for a spin, or if you can wait, there will be plenty of ST's with BikeQuip screens at National Rally. You would certainly be welcome to give mine a run.

I bought the 2" x 2", in the light grey tint simply because I thought it looked good. When I received it, I bolted it on the bike, and went for a spin. As soon as I hit even 60 km/h on the main road near home, I just knew that it was a massive improvement. I cannot recommend the BikeQuip screen highly enough. Eagle screens do a great job I've had a few of their screens on various bike over the years & if you look at the pics of their screens on the ST 1300 they even have a photo of me ;-*

For what it's worth I'ver just ordered a new clear screen for $190.00 from a company in Seven Hills here in Sydney called Slipscreens. I've asked for it to be about 4 inches higher than normal and they'll cut it down to whatever I want if I find it too high.
They also go under the name of Handcraft Fibreglass.

Some years ago I had a fall off my Hornet, which broke the bikini screen. I took this in pieces to Slipscreens who made another for me in smoke and less than half the cost of the original.

Hi there.
just my 2cents worth, look at clearview screens, mine is 2" taller 2"wider, as i am 6'2", stops all the wind,also have air vent fitted, find its a bit tall at times, have to sit upright, very good for shark evoline3, massive improvment over stock.
also look at novus plastic polish kit 1,2,3. good stuff.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I've become somewhat frustrated with the BikeQuip website (it is closed until further notice due to illness, which is unfortunate and I hope whoever is ill is on the road to recovery, but I stumbled across their facebook page and it seemed all was well - but ... I'm not savy to facebook and suchlike so I wasn't game to post any questions - if I could). So, long story, short I'm looking at other options and was wondering if anyone has gone down the Laminar Lip path and if so, what are they like. Yes I Have one it has had the desired affect My wife was experiencing a lot of wind turbulence at her helmet which the laminar lip cured It also took the buffering off me as well I still get air on me but not like I use to
When raining it forces the water downward on my visor I ride with my screen down mostly
I have also spaced my screen out approx 30mm which also helped with the back pressure and buffering
When screen is fully up the back pressure is still there but not as bad
I am in Warwick QLD you are welcome to put my screen on your bike and try it if that was an option for you

Can't say that I'm totally rapt with it as yet, still fiddling with height and angle, will get it right soon (I hope). If anyone in Melbourne / Victoria wants to test it on their ST1300, they are welcome to swap it for a weekend.

I have been using the Laminar lip for a number of years, both on the ST100 and ST1300. Did a run without it once (just to remember what it was like without one) and really noticed the difference.

Thanks for all the info and offers folks. With the Bike-Quip screen not being available at present I've been tossing up between the Laminar Lip and the MRA X-creen (the one shown by Williamson). I reckon I'll hang off a bit longer before making the decision. I prefer the look of the X-creen but I suspect the Laminar lip is more effective.
