Techmount Products

I've been looking for a suitable mount for my phone and/or GPS and I came across this site http://www.techmounts.com/index.php a few months ago.

This morning I ordered from eBay their Surface Mount which can be secured to e.g. a dash shelf and the Techgripper (a spring clamp) for my phone. It will also take items up to 4 inches wide so it might fit my Tom Tom GPS as well and if so I'll order again later.

Received in todays mail

Using my Samsung S4 as a demo. Once the base mounted there are two points for adjustment plus fine tuning with the 17mm ball and socket. Allen key supplied for the cap screws as well.  It won't quite fit the TomTom Go 600 GPS so I'll need to go with my original solution for that one.

This seems the best option to mount my GPS on the shelf.

Base for about $AUD23 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281612588431?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Small socket mount for about $AUD32 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161640668952?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
and the large version of the X- gripper for about $AUD49 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281612634366?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and maybe this sometime later for my GoPro since this type of mount is supposed to cut down on vibration http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380992102017?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Drilled the holes in my new dash shelf this morning for the Techmount mount and once I get the ram ball base mount (ordering on Wednesday) and drill those holes I can take the shelf over for powder coating

It seems I never finished this topic.

The large X-gripper that I ordered for my Sat Nav.

As set up on the dash shelf.

Techgripper to the left with the twin power supply behind and to the left. The X-gripper to the right. There's also a GoPro cam mount but it's not used and the plan is to get the GoPro fitting for Tech mount as I only use the phone as a music player. The screen is ear marked for replacement.

Phone and Sat Nav. mounted on the shelf. Both mounts can be used vertical, horizontal or anywhere in between. The Sat Nav. has a 6 inch screen which is larger than the new TomTom rider which is a planned upgrade.
