Speed cable
« on: February 04, 2021, 10:57:55 AM »
Hi guys. I’ve purchased a Commander cruise control system which should arrive in a few days. Question is, which cable do I splice into to receive the speed pulse???
Thanks in advance

Quite a few have mounted a sensor near the rear wheel, and put little high strength magnets in the disc bolt holes.

Yeah, that’s for the non electronic speedo signal.... I’m sure my 2008 has an electronic signal.... just need to find out where I can pick this up from.....

I’m actually 100% sure it’s electronic, as there is no speedo cable (mechanical cable) going into the back of the speedo itself

The speed pulse will come from the speed sensor that lives near the rear left of the engine I think. You would need to be very careful in how you tap in, to prevent damage to the wire or the system.
