« on: September 14, 2021, 12:49:51 PM »
The MACA Cancer 200 Ride for Research is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary on the 16th and 17th of October 2021

Some of us participated in 2019, and due to the Covid situation didnt take place last year. They are looking for Motor Marshals again. so fill in the form in the link and  make a comment of wanting to be a motorbike marshal .

Not sure if I can do it this year, have to look into cooling system leak.

Hi Brock, I might be available to help, but I've never done any Moto marshalling. What's involved?

Hi Big Ted,
Moto marshalling involves many things, depending on the event. The event organisers will usually brief you on what you need to do. Basically we are there for rider safety/assistance.  For this event the bike leads the riders with hazard lights going ( I have orange strobes )to warn other road users that a hazard is approaching, and to warn corner marshals that the bikes are on the way. You need to have your head on a swivel, and eyes all around your head, as some of the better riders will catch up to you unexpectedly especially on the down hill runs.

It helps to have a basic first aid knowledge, as the bike riders can do them selves a bit of damage when/if they crash. In this event not so much of an issue as you would be towards the front.  Although we are volunteers, we do get some assistance with fuel costs, not sure what they are offering this year. If you register for the event, put OzSTOC in the Group .

Below is a video fro the UK that will give a bit of an idea..
