Faded Dash?
« on: February 18, 2023, 02:43:34 PM »
Hello STriders,
I have a strange situation with my 1300, where the LCD screen is fading, or maybe the back ground is coming off?
Does anyone know of a fix, or will I have to replace the unit?
Between two of us we are currently homing;
Honda ST1300 Pan European - 2004
Honda ST1100 Pan European - 2000
Honda NT650 Deauville - 2004
Honda CBF250 - 2006
Honda CBRR250 (MC19) 1980something
Suzuki LC250 Intruder.
Suzuki M50 Boulevard
Most running, sort of.

'Fraid so.  CallmeSteve and I replaced the LEDs behind the display which changed the colour from yellow to white and made it easier to see in sunlight, but you still need the magic numbers on the screen in front of the LEDs to be intact to be legible.   I suppose the display from a wrecked bike could be better, and the ODO should still be driven by your own chip, and hence unchanged.  What do you think, Steve?- you're the techie.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
