Not a hacker, just someone who wants to steal a whole heap of ST1300's.
Simply joined up. checked out all the member Maps and now am saving up for a bike trailer.
Hmmmmm told you it was simple

I call BS. For starters that's illegal.

And if anyone uses easy to guess passwords then they deserve to be hacked.

(On a side note I had to get into my router the other week and tried all the usual passwords I use, only to discover I forgot to set it on on the router and was using the default "password" as the password...problem solved)

Your quite right.
I mean fancy someone doing something thats illegal.
By the way I have a mate in Nigeria who's a lawyer and needs someone in Australia who can send him some bank account details so he can put 20 million in it for them??? so if your interested let me know.
Ahhhh but wait thats against the law so I as well call BS.

If you set your security correctly. No one except the people You choose will be able to see your page.

OzSTOC Facebook is here for everyone to post photo's on, keep in the loop with what is going on around the traps, and be another conduit for people to find us :) (with a 145 likes, and aimed directly at ST riders it is a good number).

So it is not here to be a negative, it is here as a positive way for the people that use it, I myself do not have a personal Facebook profile, but i use it for driving OzSTOC forward, and also it is a large part of promoting the Retail arm of Hip Pocket.

we can offer every theory in the world why we should or should not use it, but fact of life, it has 955 million users, it is here to stay.

we could all spend some more time being a little more positive and not looking for the negative in everything  :beer

(my two cents, if you don't want people to know your going away don't post it)

Sound idea that STreak.
Just remember not to tell your own kids that your going away as well though. You don't want them telling their "friends" do you... :|||| :rofl

As Marcus says be careful with face book and it's an all right handy tool. I visit facebook but don't "use" it, as in I don't post.

I'd go so far as to not tell the wife too. Either leave her at home or blind fold her for the entire trip.

Have been watching this one for a while now and kept myself at arms length. I must say that this topic has certainly created some passionate discussion.
My thoughts are simple on the subject. Technology in general has helped society, in this case, OSTOC as in forums, website and now Facebook. Personally I do not use Facebook for no other reason than I do not have the time. The only time I get agro with the use of this or any other technology, is when it interupts any conversation, you know the "technology" that is built into everyone,  I may be having with someone or a group of people. That really gets me going.
To whoever set this up, thanks for the effort.

An interesting article on the newest form of cyber-crime...and the target is Facebook and it's lookalikes.

I totally agree with Whizz, don't see a need for it.
Wizz i thought the very same thing ,but alas i now have a bunch of motor cycling facebook friends in many countries who share photo's and stories.so i have to admit that i now "like" it.

I've deactivated my account.... It became too time consuming for my addictive personality. Besides there are some things ppl post up that I really don't want or need to know about. The downside is your out of the loop as most use this media then getting together or phoning.
I jus wanna ride my bike

OzSTOC FaceBook page is where I found OzSTOC.. and FarRiders,,, on to the forums and learnt a lot,, its a gr8 community.. :runyay

I liked the page,,, for me,,,I use FB to keep in touch wiv family and friends worldwide or  'just up the road'. 160 friends, mostly relo's & I dont accept friend requests unless I know or want to know then. during 2012, on treatment and not able to function well, isolated (almost), facebook "chat" and the internet made it easy   :'( when the meds kicked in.
no longer working I spend a lot of time onda puter, I fumble round the www's hoping to learn sumfin or have a  :rofl :rofl, I earn a few petrol vouchers and or  :thumb paypal deposits doing "SURVEYS" with helps the wallet. save for STyres etc....
I respect  everyone's views above also, and know a few ppl that 'dont compute at all.. :dred11

Facebook is just a little global coffee table to sit and watch the world go by with the ones you want to have at the table.

I've got family all over the place and we've got to see & share more of each others live just by logging on and having a look on Facebook.

You don't leave your doors open at home, your wallet on the front verandah and your kids in the shopping centres unattended in real life.

Facebook's no different. Be careful.

As Jerry Seinfeld said about his T V show -'It's really just a little show about nothing to most.'

So is Facebook.

Exactly Rex, we have kids and Grandkids all over the place and it's a wonderful way of staying in touch, seeing photos and videos of the Grandkids we don't see often enough.

Make sure your security settings are high and I don't have any Facebook friends that I don't personally know, other than groups or organisations that I follow.
