I acknowledge hardworking Australians no matter who they are or where they come from. All those who have contributed to this wonderful country deserve an equal share of gratitude for their contributions. To single any group of individuals out for special homage only denigrates the rest of us.

I installed my new dash shelf this morning and all looks good with both phone and GPS on board. I still have the old one as a spare which I used as a template and I trimmed some material off the front to allow most if not all the airflow back up behind the screen.

The phone on the left mounted with the Techmount parts I ordered here http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=10386.msg1191027#msg1191027
The GPS on the Right and mounted with the Ram Mount Products here http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=10626.msg1195494#msg1195494
Twin 12 volt power supply behind the phone.

Close as I can get as a view from my riding position though with my height I'm looking over the screen normally.

[

Close up of phone and Sat Nav (I always call GPS) - just need to route the cabling a bit better

Phone has music play list showing but not to clear in this shot - with the WiFi I can have some control over the Go-Pro now and can stop/start recording on the go if I need to.

The GPS loaded with a route. This one gives me route info on the right of screen; shows rest stops, fuel stops and anything else along the route based on POI settings; important stuff like rest stops, fuel and food. Top right gives distance etc. to next way point or if I tap it, distance to destination. Generally my way points are fuel stops on rides further than 300 km. Good thing is I can read all the important info without my reading glasses.

Looking good is one thing but I haven't road tested it yet; might all fall apart yet. Trip down the shop without the phone and GPS and it went ok.
