As an aside TJ, the G4 cannot be charged as you go because when charging it doesn't operate... So good idea but a check in the cabled system column.
So I am thinking rider/pillion/other riders comms is what I need so bluetooth is perhaps the solution and pair with other riders. No UHF in my budget.
Thanks again and safe riding..

Mate, not sure if you noticed in my reply but I take two with me. One is being used, the other is on charge in the tank bag.
Cheers

Does anyone know of a bluetooth dongle or device that can be plugged into an iPod classic and linked or paired with the scala Q2?

Kinda needed urgently if you know of one or where to look.

Here is a cople I found when I had a look on google

http://www.gtmall.com.au/stereo-bluetooth-adaptor.html?
Stereo Bluetooth Adaptor $59

iBtune iPod Bluetooth Transmitter Adaptor $59

So it looks like there are a few that plug into the bottom of the iPods or you can get a universal one that plug into the audio jack.

Good luck :thumb

Sabie although the Q2 has 2 speakers I think it may actualy be mono sound, so any A2DP transmitter will probably not pair  :'(.

Your best bet would the phone to send music
I may ride a Ducati, but I've rode lots of (other peoples :-) ) ST's

Thanks Dale, the specks for the Q2 does say its compatible with A2DP, however obviously not.

The problem with the 2nd bluetooth device Shiney has recommended is that you then can't charge or power the iPod as you go. The phone I have is only an 8 mb HTC Mozart so has a low capacity for storage.

There must be something out there. I've sent a message to Scala asking for their recommendation.

Another option is a FM Transmitter attached to the iPod and use the FM radio on the Q2 to listen to the music :think1

Earlier on I used an FM transmitter which plugged into a cigarette lighter, it also had a usb slot available which I plugged the ipod into for charging.  It was just a matter of tuning in the G2.  If you like PM me your address and I will pop it into a padded bag and send it up :wink1

Hi

The following is the reply from Cardo USA

Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting the Cardo Systems Support Center.

Most Bluetooth dongles that we have tested are not sophisticated enough to maintain the Bluetooth connection with a scala rider headset once they are interrupted by another source, such as the Q2s Intercom feature. These dongles are generally designed only to be used specifically for sending audio from a music device to a Bluetooth speaker, and are not designed to be using in conjunction with a headset that switches between multple audio sources, so I’m afraid I can’t recommend a specific adapter or dongle that may work properly with the scala rider headsets.

Another issue you may encounter is with the Bluetooth signal that is being sent from the adapter or dongle that you may try. If you are using a scala rider Q2, and not the Q2 PRO; the scala rider Q2 is a mono-only device that cannot receive a Stereo Bluetooth signal, where as the scala rider Q2 PRO can receive both mono and Stereo Bluetooth signals.
If the adapter or dongle is a Stereo device and you are using the scala rider Q2, this may also explain any connection issues that you might encounter.

Please feel free to contact us if we can assist you with any other questions.

Best Regards,
(Sabie pronounced Sab bee)
