Evenin' rusSTyEB et al,

I made my own raisers similar to the second of your hyperlinks over 12 years ago and still doing the job well...however, 2 things U should consider. They are if in the unfortunate instance U have a crash in which insurance is involved, are U still covered. Secondly, if your bike has ABS etc post 1997, you will need to re-route the brake hydraulic hose so that it is outside (to the right), of the the right handlebar raiser; orherwise U will overstretch it on full LEFT lock.

Just a thought

Ciao, the can:-)

Few options with the 1100.....flip clip mod, risers, Helli bars, or BMW K75 bars also consider if you wish to keep your plastic.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Insurance angle is one I haven't considered. Interesting to see if anyone has some experience in this matter.

Plastics I'm hoping will still fit, if only also a little raised.  New bars cost more $$$ than I can afford right now and a lot more work moving my home installed heated grips etc.

Non-ABS too.

OK, so I have installed these:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CPR-universal-handlebar-risers-15mm-35mm-clamps-for-7-8-22mm-bars-HBCK10-/400448830805?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d3c9c3d55

I'll modify my Plastic eventually to look nice again.

QUESTION:

The only side effect (other than the plastics) is the accelerator cables being 'tight' and constricting when bars in a left lock.  Has anyone been able to remedy this?  not sure where to start with the adjustment.

Cheers.

My risers ar Roxx 3.5". Here's a photo of the layout of the cables and hoses (hopefully it's clear enough):

I removed the clutch lever and just managed to push it through the gaps so that the cables ran outside the forks rather than inbetween them. Same with the throttle cables. I replaced the front brake hose because the original one was too tight. I ordered my braided brake hose via the CX Register because they have the same fittings as the ST1100. I may have had to reroute some wires too, but can't remember now!

Hope that helps.

Hi Martin,

This is all I did and I have no problems.

Also, if you haven't done it all ready, search for bar risers in the 1100 Section of the forum and we will find more "stuff".

Cheers

Be sure to check out Rodd's setup Martin - a lil beaut! Saw in at the Ulysses AGM in Maryborough.

He will be at Esk RTE this weekend.

Cheers, Diesel

Re-routed throttle cables and modified plastics all good.   Now to work out where this sudden coolant leak came from.. ....
