Another great RTE at Robertson's Pie Shop.  Crap weather but fantastic company.  A bit slippery going up and down the Pass, but still a lot of fun. I think Fi's getting the hang of pillioning.  On to the next ride. :hatwave
Red, loud, rowdy, and proud.

Good company, not too bad pies - some had 2!  :eat

Dry ride both ways from Canberra to Marulan on the way up wet n wetter from there thru Penrose, Bundanoon thru to Robertson. On the way home it was wet from Robertson almost to Mosvale and then dry thru to home.

At least some bikes received a well needed wash!

There was a very nice ST1100 and matching sidecar - attracted a fair bit of interest - nice rig.

Thanks Guys

Post Hi-Jacked.

Well that's pretty much how I seen it so I will just throw in the associated evidence here.

(special thanks to our unknown photographer that was drag out from the crowd of onlookers.)  :Blow  :clap

Mug Shot with Mandatory Flag.

Famous lineup showing more famous Pie Shop.

Ok now this machine was sweet.... Not as much as the many pie's that where consumed for desert by unknown culprits in Grey/Orange shirts. But you get the Idea right.

Thanks to all that braved the Wet weather and made it an enjoyable RTE....  :eat

Hi All,

Great to meet some real faces - instead of just avatars - even though it was pretty wet all the way back to Bowral. Glad to hear the weather cleared up for those who had further to travel. A couple more photos,

cheers

Simon (Woffo)

ps hope the cherry pie lives up to its reputation!!

G'day Woffo,

I made a point of coming up to Robbo via Mittagong, Bowral from Wollongong. Despite having lived in the Illawarra for 20 years we have rarely visited this area and I really liked the village atmosphere of these precincts. I am going to urge Terese (a reluctant rider unless conditions are ideal) to go up there for a look-see and lunch. Will PM u b4 it happens to see if u can to join us for a ride around the area.

BTW liked your setup with sidecar - It looks like it may be a two-person sidecar - correct?

Thanks Mothership, A2Z, Fi and Jock for staying with me for a chat and munch even tho I arrived late and last. Plenty of nice people in this club.

Sorry guys, I kept watching this thread and was thinking of going but we were up in Sydney for a Concert last night and stayed the night. Bit of christmas shopping on the way home today, bloody 11 grandkids and 1 great grand kid who demand presents, and lots of rain to contend with, glad we were in the car. Hopefully make the next one.

Mind you, I did get a nice ride in during the week. Callala Bay to Batemans Bay, Lunch at Nelligen, up through Braidwood toward Bungendore, turn right before Bungendore toward Tarago and through Lake Bathurst into Goulburn, up the the Hume and right turn and through Mittagong, back through the Kangaroo Valley and back home to the serenity of Callala Bay. A nice 400+km day.

Hi St George,

Yes, it is actually referred to as a "one and a half" seater I think. Maybe a small adult and a small child would fit, but in reality comfortable for most adults on their own I think.

Yes, would be good to catch up if you are coming "up the hill" - there are quite a few nice villages about with good cafes where you can have lunch or a coffee and also enjoy the ride between them. Let me know when you get a chance to get away.

Cheers

A great little day ride from Canberra with Lionel, Terry (STroppy) and Sarge.  Due to the weather the ride back through Kangaroo Valley,  Nowra, Nerriga etc did not happen  But great to meet up with some new and older faces!  I recommend the chilli pie if you like that sort of thing.

A couple of likely lads discussing something in the rain (St George left, Sarge right)

I did not bring the proper camera, so this does no justice at all to quality of this ST11 chair - it is up there with JZR's ST1100 powered creation and the trike at the Middleton Ulyssess AGM

A few bikes (red ST1300s seem to be rather common if you ask me...see later pictures)

And some more

Jock's 1990 ST1100

And some more

Something serious being discussed (maybe the weather??)

I couldn't tell - too much fog and rain. Just happy I had my neck warmer and track suit top on under my riding gear.

I wasn't talking about Sunday, Lionel, just the general riding conditions and beautiful localities in this part of NSW. I'm just saying that this part of NSW is usually so conducive to pleasant, interesting riding that I feel lucky to live nearby. Robertson is vastly the exception, one of the highest rainfalls in NSW. Those places cited by JWM are places I want 2 go 2 in the foreseeable future.

St.George, if you want company, I'm happy to do that ride again anytime. Just call or put up a post.

It's actually a ride I do regularly, sometimes I change it a bit and turn right at Tarago and come back home through the back of Nerriga. and then down the Nerriga/Nowra Road.

Then of course, you can go further down the coast and up Brown Mtn into Cooma. Oops, I better stop, I'm starting to celibate.

G'day STreakers (STriders),

Sounds like a plan. JWM, put up a possible plan and time and after checking with family will be there. I have a lot of flexibility so after a couple of iterations this amazing ride should b on. Can't wait. Our Canberra buddies might b able to come. Stroppy is interested, Saaz, m8, r u interested - want 2 run in that new Triumph Trophy? I'll let u let me ride it to check your judgement if u like.

I am always up for a Canberra-Nerriga-Nowra-Kangaroo Valley loop.  Great fish and chip shop (not much seating but space outside) in the relatively new markets in Nowra (just across the bridge coming from the North, on the left) - they sell meats, seafood etc etc, and there is a fruit and veg market there now as well.

I can report that the pies at the Mountain High Pies, Wentworth Falls are awesomer than I thought. Seriously, this pie shop should be on everyone's bucket list! Called in there this morning and was lucky enough to buy a "big breakfast" pie. It had everything a proper big breakfast has, and I simply couldn't believe how good it was.

Now I'm not judging this to definitely be the best pie shop, but it is the highest on my list, even surpassing the Copley Bakery's pies and pasties in SA. I think that is sayin something :eat  :eat :eat :eat :eat

Sounds brilliant. I think I can smell that pie from the Gong. Why don't we organize an RTE there in the near future? I'm sure I could persuade Mother Terese 2 this one (weather permitting). Just wish I could fit more people on Wyvern, cause our youngsters luv a gr8 pie as well. Might have 2 look into getting a sidecar like Woffo's.
