Where to buy spares / parts / service items
« on: January 08, 2012, 12:52:25 PM »
First of all, apologies if this has been answered elsewhere - I have searched but didn't find what I was looking for.

Where do you guys get your spares from?  Are there any decent online retailers that you use?  I'm looking for service parts at the moment - Air filter, spark plugs, oil filter, brake pads.  (I might try Repco for the oil filter).

I'd also like to know where you get tyres from.  Either in Oz or foreign companies that post to Oz.

Any info would be useful.  Maybe we could get a kind of directory here for people to go to?

Suppliers I can provide are:

- David Silver Spares - I guess most people know these guys, I've used them a few times.

- Wemoto - UK based, I believe they would post to Oz.  Used them a few times too.

- eBay - of course.  Used eBay most of the time in the UK, there is loads of stuff on the UK site - but lots of UK sellers don't seem to post to Oz.

- Peter Stevens - Bought my helmet from here, good service.  Aussie website.

I have used Jake Wilson out of the USA, very good pricing, timely delivery, and my bike shop fitted them for me.

What are you looking at purchasing?. Might be easier to define your search

In the short term, service parts - oil/air filter, spark plugs, brake pads etc.

I am also interested in any places to buy tyres.  I tend to get through quite a few, at least I will once I'm back riding properly.

In the longer term, websites for spare parts (non-service items if you like).
