Timing belt maintainance
« on: January 26, 2012, 01:51:41 PM »
Hi everybody,
As you all know I am a new member, and my question for this week is about maintainance for the timing belt for the St1300.
IE. where is it ?how do you get to it? what needs to be done to it?how do you do It? and can you do it easily yourself?
I know that I could search the forum but I am very easily confused and I have been told many times that sometimes I am a little slow.
Therefore any succient or relevant input from you great bunch of guys I would appreciate. (said condsendingly)
Incidently the ride is a 2003 model with 104.000 klms. up and I can not contact  the PO.Who was very vague about his maintainance schedule anyway.
Thanks in advanve for any comments etc.
 Cheers

There isn't one.

unlike the 1100, you have a timing chain, but saying that, in the older days timing chains did strech to the point of needing replacement but I doubt if you need to worry about that yet.

here's the link to the 1300 manual on the our site

I haven't heard of anyone having problems or having to replace the timing chain in the ST13.  Ride it until you do and you will be the first  :thumb

Timing belt Maintainance

Hi everybody,
Thank you alans11, and saaz, for your quick heads up about my query.
It is very reassuring to get your feedback, I must say that I am very relieved to get it, thank you again.
I will put some time into checking out the workshop manual so that at the end of the day I will once again be older , and hopefully wiser.
Cheers again.
