Andrew and I had a damp and windy ride to Birdwood and met Hendo at the Cafe, who was over from Melbourne visiting family.   The coffee at this place is great and the massive servings Scones, Jam and Cream are a meal on their own.  We sat inside by the open fire, caught up on some gossip, and then Andrew and I rode down the twisty North East Road through Gumeracha, Chain of Ponds, and Tea Tree Gully  to visit a mate who is recovering from surgery.  Back home by 2.00pm after another great ride in the Adelaide Hills.

So, being a newby here... is this still a thing with the spring weather now smiling down on us?

Sure is Blerko. :thumb     It's been a standing set ride, right through winter, but has not had strong support.    If you are keen to go on particular month, post your interest on this thread, and see who takes the bait.   It's a fantastic ride, no matter which way you come from Adelaide, the Cafe is a beauty, and I can usually make it.

Hi Marty,
There certainly can be, as it's a fixture for anyone looking for a mid week ride.   :thumb   I have a brief appointment at 9.00am, but could meet you near the Crafers BP at 9.30 to ride to Birdwood for a cuppa and one of their scones which are as big as a lunch roll.   WOW:

I'm just giving this regular RTE opportunity a "Bump".    The first Wednesday of the month is a permanent listing, so simply post if you are interested, and see who is keen to come along.   :thumbsup

Would love to do a midweek ride, but opportunities rare due to that four letter word.

Do a ride to Murray Bridge & I'll meet you for coffee. :thumb :thumbsup

Message me a couple of days before you want to ride, just in case I've got meetings on or am somewhere else.

Yesterday I learned my friends have taken over a coffee shop in Birdwood.  Today I learned it was this very shop.  Incidentally I do have a wednesday RDO coming up soon (can't remember the date off the top of my head).

Let me know when you have your Wednesday RDO, and if you are free, we may be able to head up there for morning tea.  The scones were about the size of dinner rolls.   :eat

Wow - that's bad timing, Ulyssyes in Berri 6th May and Glendambo FarRide on the 5th - doesn't anyone check what else is on before they post an event.

Work out a date and we might give Glendambo a miss

We'll be going this wednesday (28th).  Mrs Glimt is coming too so we'll be in the car.  I suggested a ride but she's not too keen on riding so far.  The furthest I have taken her on the bike was Castle Plaza (and she requested we didn't go over Emerson Crossing again on the way home).
