New game folks...
Post a pic of your ST in front of one of those funky/austentacious letterboxes that we all see on our travels and post it here. Bike MUST be in pic. Don't forget to name the town/location/state for us.
I'll kick off...
5 clicks West of Kilcoy, Qld....

I think it's rubbish for the council's roadside pickup. It was sure nice of them to put it on a pole so the city cleansers won't hurt their backs bending over so far. :grin
-
No No.... It's so they can defrost their mail on those cold Sth East mornings.....................

Seen this morning on way to RTE. On the flat section just west of Mount Glorious:

On a back road between Merriwa & Willow Tree.
This road was an absolute gold mine for strange letterbox's....then it turned into 15 km of Gravel

Saw this one on Flagstone Creek Road, near toowoomba.
we have seen the microwave before, but i got good value out of this one as the owner wandered down to see what the strange man on a motorcycle was up to, and we ended up having a chat, as his postie has asked him for a new letter box as he has trouble opening it while on the postie bike, so we ended up discussing good simple, but different looking letter boxes that he could use!
He stated that he was not having any Milk Cans, Chain Links welded together, or windmills, was quite a funny conversation, as he was most interested in why we took photos of letter boxes!
-
Why? Cause we're strange... That's why...
"as he was most interested in why we took photos of letter boxes!"
-
Found this one today, looks like the letters could move the furniture in and start their own "little house on the prairie" Show!

The authentic rusty galvanised iron roof is a nice detail.
You're certainly getting out more since you tied the knot, Streak. It's the opposite for most of us. :'(
-
Now it is not my ST in front of this one, but my ST Pillion. We spotted this "letterbox" at the front gate to Mt Ive Station in the middle of Eyre Peninsula on a recent trip. Clearly there are people about with too much time on their hands. Mt Ive Station hosts the Dry Lake Racers Australia for their Speedweek in March each year. See http://www.dlra.org.au/ (http://www.dlra.org.au/)
-
Brilliant :thumb that's a good one Pete..

Stagger me!! That's huge! (And very clever). Where do they put the letters?
(BTW, you'd better get your pillion some stronger riding boots for Christmas).
-
BTW, you'd better get your pillion some stronger riding boots for Christmas.
We were exploring the Gawler Ranges in the 4WD, and the ST was tucked away back home. Anyway, what's wrong with those boots? I've seen plenty of people wearing them on bikes?
-
Good one Pete, although I have been to the dry lakes races and I hardly think that Mt Ive is on the Eyre Peninsula.

Agree, the VERY northern dry bit. :rofl

Sorry Sarge but Roosters don't lay eggs.
Isn't it an egg in a basket under the chook, attached to the fence, just asking.
-
Technically its just a rock, but your story may indeed hold some truth but then it wouldn't have as many points to use "R" in my story if I call it a chicken.
-
Charlee The Champion Chook?

Reginald the Randy Romancer :think1

Hi All found this one on our club ride today Sunday 24th, as you leave Greenthorpe heading to Young Via Monteagle it's on the right, thankfully the owner has the sense to bolt it down as it's been beautifully made. Cheers Candywine. :thumbs

I found this on the Birdseye Highway.

Mount Wedge... I have that one too. Someone has already posted it in here. I love country letter boxes.
-
Pete,
I posted that one on 23 March, 2013. It's one of the best mail boxes I have ever seen.
It's certainly worth stopping to snap a pic.

We went past that on our way to Perth in Dec 2004. It was a car trip so I only took a pic of the letterbox.

I saw a great one on the way to the Halls Gap RTE, but wasn't able to get photos. Knowing Bødo's love of such things, gave him direction to get back there, but he chose another route home. I'll have to go back and get that & more I found on the Halls Gap RTE

Just for fun, who can pick 10 mods in that photo of my ST?
Could be a major hijack, but that's what we do second best. :grin
(I can see 11, but one is invisible)
-
Screen (may be) highway pegs, backrest, armrest, GPS, spotlights, tank cover, seat cover, fish eye mirror, farkle switches on handlebars.
That's 10 of 11 maybe
-
:hijacked Adding the Shillas's observations... Risers, Oxford heated grips, MCCruise, MCL Ram Ball mount on brake reservoir.
-
One more... knee pads🤓
-
That’s 15 🤓

Good try. But... the armrests are a factory feature of that Honda topbox and so is the backrest. The "farkle switches" you can see is probably the over-ride of the spotlights.

Well spotted on the bar risers. That actually adds one that I missed!
-
One more... knee pads🤓
Nup. They're integrated with the tank cover. You can't count one thing twice! :-(((
-
Well done on spotting all those, guys. I just noticed another one myself- the horn protector that prevents the tank bag (when fitted) from activating the horn on full left lock.
The item that is invisible is the clear adhesive plastic pannier protectors.
And you're right about the screen, Shillas- a close look will see the lip at the top of the Bikequip screen. And it's wider, anyway.

Looks like I won't be either, unless someone discovers a crate of them in a warehouse somewhere.

Rode past this in Nildottie (sa) on the way to the Waikerie RTE earlir this year. The other unusual thing about this one is it is on the opposite side of the road of the house that it services.
