Today STranger had new rubber to his rear fitted, A PR4 which is an upgrade from his previous PR3. His previous rubber has done just under 20 thousand kilometers, which IMHO is due to my change to a more passive STyle of riding opposed to the more aggressive nature I had previously. So in my thinking with the newer PR4 I should get even better milage.

I also changed his oil and filter, and tickled his belly whilST he was undressed, and I lubed him up .All I have to do is pack him up and hit the road and head weSTl!

I got 20K off the PR3's before I went to the 4's. Safe riding Johnnie. Hopefully we will see you along the road somewhere :thumb

In Hay sunday Arvo I checked the psi in the rear Hot it was 45-5psi the outside temp was 39c I didn't touch it figuring air expands when hot its done 2,000 ks and not squared off YET, then next thousand plus 's will i think, This morning it as 42-psi before leaving Kimba.
At Ceduna and hitting the road west after a feed, feeling good

Good onya JYT.
I've heard of riders having to almost lean at 45* towards the Bight to counter the wicked wind coming from the South over the years. A headwind is also alot of trouble - spesh for fuel consumption - SPESHALLY when you are paying up to $2 per litre out there!
Keep us updated on your movements champ. ++

Dave its very difficult to tell from the pic but there isn't any flat treadwear its still curved like it should be and that's after 4300 or so 's. I'll try and get a better pic 2moro, I was on G.O.R. with trailer behind STranger having to battle winds front the southern ocean on a lean 45* or greater just to go straight. aso dealt with headwinds buffeting me about.Esperance had a lot of wind yeSTerday

I've done about 2300 km on the PR3 rear (my first Michelin) and no sign of wear even with at least 50 percent towing the trailer and 75 percent riding two up - wonder what mine will be like when mines near your km. With the Bridgestones I could see tyre wear quite easily with the km I've done so far.

I find it easier to see if there is a flattening in the centre if bike is on the centre STand and weighted on the front wheel.
It's not looking to bad for having spent so long on STraight roads.

I am happy with it as I had expected a much larger flat area from all the bend less roads across the paddock.
and juST to refresh,, this is the tyre when I arrived in Perth...

I'm very happy with the PR4 and after a few rides on twiSTy roads hopefully I'll get better than 20k k's like from my previous PR3

That is brilliant mate. You have absolutely nailed the correct tyre pressures right there. Well done on crossing the paddock.
Cheers, Diesel
