A Swarm of BMW's Hits NSW
« on: October 08, 2019, 04:58:44 PM »
I have just got home from a ten day, 3,500km  ride into NSW with a group of friends, as it turns out, all riding Beemers.   There were two K1200's and three R1200RT's.   The boys left home on Friday 27th Sept and rode to Deniliquin (700km)  for our first night, and then on to a motel at Sydney Airport, which was another 700km day.   The ladies all flew in on Sunday morning, and we all headed off, bound for a BnB at Wisemans Ferry.   The ride through Syndey and over the bridge was challenging, and we were pleased to get out of the city.   We had two nights at Wisemans Ferry and spent the spare day riding the roads in the region and had lunch at The Tractor Cafe near the Sackville Ferry.     After Wisemans it was on to Katoomba via Singleton and the Putty Road, where we spent three nights in another lovely BnB.    Much time was spent of the back verandah feeding seed to the cockies and cheese and wine to ourselves.   Chris and I did an easy day ride to the Tarana Pub for lunch, and explores some wonderful local rides.  I apologise for not warning the local OzSTOC team of our incursion into your territory.    The ride home took us to Harden (overnight), Tocumwal (overnight) with a final night in some riverfront cottages at Tooleybuc.    We passed through Deneliquin as the Ute Muster was winding up and have never seen so many blue singlets and mullets in one place.   I'll put up a few photos once I figure out how to get them off my phone, but in th meantime, here's a rough map of our trip.

That's a great way to take Mrs Pete for a holiday.  It sure teaches wives to pack economically!  We're off to the CMA National Run in Anglesea next week and my pillion will fly into Tulla where I'll pick her up to ride on down.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
