Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex Boots
« on: June 26, 2019, 05:08:28 PM »
I have owned a pair of Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex touring boots for close to six years and had just about worn a hole in the soles, so beforre I went on my "Around Oz" adventure, I bought a new pair.  The old pair had fitted like an old pair of slippers from day one, and had never let in a single drop of water, and were comfortable to walk in, so why would I buy anything else.    My maintenance regieme was to reqularly alternate between boot polish and Dubbin to keep the leather supple and waterproof.

My new pair were just as comfortable and as waterproof as the old pair, but on return home from my trip, I noticed that the sole had slightly lifted from the upper at the toe of one of the boots.    I took them back to MotoAadelaide where I had bought them, to enquire about a warranty claim.   MotoAdelaide were most supportive and agreed that such a fault should not happen with top end boots that are just two months old, and held them to show the Alpinestars rep next time he appeared.    He sent them to a local bootmaker that most of the bike shops use for clothing and boot warranty repairs, and when they came back, the Alpinestars rep was quite unhappy with the quality of the repair ....  a squirt of glue had been poorly forced  into the gap, but it was a pretty untidy job.    So   .......   today I collected a new pair of Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex boots to replace the pair purchased three months ago.

All credit to MotoAdelaide and the local Alpinestars sales rep for standing behind their product and promptly settling a warranty claim.     Now I need to break in my new boots, again.

It is always good to see a company stand behind their product .   Too many companies look for the loop hole

I had feared that once I got home, I might loose the passion for riding the long roads.  No so  .....  and Fish and I are cooking up another decent adventure.

I've always found MotoAdelaide to be very helpful and bought a few accessories there.

The place it got sent to for repair... is it on Hutt Street in the city?  I can't remember the name of it, but I've had something mended there in the past and was happy with it.

So does that mean the Border Run followed by the Tassie Rally?

Thats the one, Ideal Shoe Repairs in Hutt Street, Adelaide.   I had them put a new zipper in a jacket and was pleased with the service, result and price.   This time however, they have done a less than ideal job.
