Hi guys, i'm picking up a trailer in just over a week, and its got a non-standard looking hitch on it.

I'm fairly sure it will clip onto a pollyblock hitch/coupling for the towball end, but haven't got one to compare it too..

Has anybody got one they could check some measurements on for me? I'm after the pin size, and block thickness.

Thanks!

I'm fairly sure it looks like one of these will work, but I haven't got one to measure up. the towbar on his bike has a 50mm space between top and bottom holes, with a 12-12.5mm hole for the pin.

Ben this is a TREGG 4x4 coupling....would be very heavy and overkill.....but the principle would work if a motorcycle version was available   :like

I'm hoping the treg attachment that goes where the tow-ball is will fit what's on the trailer, but haven't got any nearby I can measure up to check.. 😑
Might have to make some calls tomorrow..

I have a TREGG in the shed on my wood trailer and can measure up in the morning......but the gap between top and bottom on the receiver for the poly block is about 100-120mm and takes a 25mm pin if that helps tonight  ;-*

Yep, that helps a lot.. It won't fit, so I'm guessing this one is a custom build. No problems, I'll just build the required coupling one night. I have drawings of his setup so it won't be hard to build it.

Thanks for the info..  :beer

Hi  Me_3.
I do not know if this will help you, There are many different poly block couplings available, but the actual measurements of the one that I have to hand is
Pin diameter that goes through the poly block is 18.85 mm
Height of poly block is 74.8 mm
width is 74.5 mm
Horozantal length of poly block is 100 mm
The threaded bolt for fastening the receiver to the vehicle attachment  point,  It  replaces the standard ball at the (tow bar) is 21.7mm. If I can find a photo I will attach it to this reply.
Hope this helps.

A further inspection of your photos suggests to me that what you have is a home built adaptation which uses two  fulcrum points with solid steel pins and sleeves which allows  rotation about the separate vertical, and horizontal axis of movement. I can not see that coupling actually using a poly block component as I have shown in my previous post.
Good luck with your new trailer,
