Tnoralla Bluff crater lookout, Mereenie Loop road, NT

https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g255062-d279121-i141207479-Mereenie_Loop_Road-Northern_Territory.html

Well done.   It's a view of Gosse Bluff (Tnoralla) meteorite crater from Tyler Pass Lookout, 40 km west of Glen Helen.   Gosse Bluff was caused by a meteorite impact around 140 million year ago.  I've been there on the bike a couple of times, as Glen Helen is one of my favorite places in Australia.  It's quite evocative to sit on the banks on the Fink River, which at 400 million years old, is the oldest river in the world which is still flowing on it's original course.

Love this game, get to know about so many places and interesting facts. Passed through this area, Hermansburg in 2006 on our way to Darwin.

We will be there again in a couple of weeks, on our way to the Kimberley in the 4WD.  :runyay

.... It's a view of Gosse Bluff (Tnoralla) ....

Gee, the two day ride put me off.  I estimate approx. 1,800 km from Pete, a three day ride for me.

It is indeed 1800km from home, and that's two solid touring days for me  :thumb  or three if I'm taking it easy, and just one day for many of our IBA members.  :eek

I'll chime in while everyone is digging through their hard drives:

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
