Put me and Julie down as well thanks. We're also looking into spending the night in the old gaol at Gladstone  if others are interested let me know. Its a bit rustic but fun nonetheless

Didn't want to advise whether attending or not till working arrangements had been confirmed for that weekend.

It'll just be me attending, looking forward to a decent ride.

I'm giving a talk to a "Men's Breakfast" group on Saturday morning, so once I'm done, it will be head down and bum up to get us to Stone Hut for lunch.    The forecast for the region is 21 degrees, but 60% chance of 1-5mm, so we might get a shower.

:thumb See you there Pete. Julie and I are heading up via Two Wells, Mallala, Brinkworth, Yacka and Laura - a bit more direct and more interesting (albeit a bit slower) than the main drag. We'll probably grab a coffee at Mallala. We're heading back Sunday after a night in the slammer at Gladstone.

This will be our ride for the day; taking the southern route via Jamestown and Caltowie and across to Stone Hut and back home via Orroroo giving us a meagre 170 km round trip.

Hi, you mentioned wanting to see the big battery - the last couple of km should be ok for the bike but you'll need a decent lens on the camera

Arrived home safely.  Shall try a ride report after I've had a shower.  I hope Richo found what he was looking for.  I kept an eye out but didn't see it.

I'll just add these pictures taken at the bakery in here. I was going to do a separate ride story but not really much to add being close to home and an uneventful 170 km round trip. There is some Go Pro cam stuff for a small part of our ride which I'm going through and will  post when finished.

Sorry Pete, yours I forgot yours.

I've just spotted this discussion ........

I take it that Richo lost a pannier.  Please correct me otherwise.  If no correction needed, I hope it was RH side pannier, red and for an ST1300, because I have one surplus to my needs.

You are correct on all accounts, although the shade of red may not be the same.

Great news.  Did you find the original or were just quick and finding a partner?

Long story that will cost me a few drinks at some stage.   I stripped down the bike for maintenance and installing heated grips.   Once the jobs were done and the grips installed I went for a test ride.    Rode the bike for a couple of weeks.  Only on the ride to stone hut did I notice the missing pannier.  It was only After calls to insurance companies and exchanging messages with club members re panniers did the wayward pannier come to light.    It was safely tucked away in my shed.   :|||| :o

Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :fp

Richo, thanks to you and Williamson (Michael) I have started zip tying the pannier handles to the pillion handles having decided that as the ST1300 ages, the pannier securing mechanism is obviously losing its mojo (at least the zip ties are the reusable sort). But now what do I do??  :think1  I suppose that now I know Williamson has a spare RHS pannier I can at least do away with that zip tie.  :runyay
