I have similar gloves, different brand but they work well in hot weather if you still want good protection. Great price from Zen.

Well the gloves have turned up, and i am VERY impressed, they are going to be perfect for summer riding, plenty of Mesh & Vents for getting the wind into your hands, and breather holes in the fingers as well, Mark was very good when i asked him about sizes, i just measured my hand and he sorted my size, and they are perfect fit, they are going to get a good work out for the run to nambucca heads in February, here are a couple of photos i took with them on:

I trashed a similar pair of gloves up near Broome on my last big trip.    For one reason or another, one of them finished up on the highway, and I watched as they were run over by a road train and finished up 100 meters down the road.   I walked back to retrieve them and just as I got near, another road train going in the other direction got them as well, so I had to walk back again.   The glove "sort of" survived, with one small hole in the palm, but the knuckle protector has multiple fractures.

I think I'll order a new pair from Zen, as they look like a good pair of summer gloves.

Paul.
In my opinion, the only guarantee of keeping water out is to wear a fully waterproof overjacket.  Having tried at least four brands and styles, anything that is "breathable" will eventually let the water in.   I now use an RST Ventilator jacket with a w/proof liner, jumper underneath if it's cold, and waterproof motorcycle overjacket if it's really raining.  This combination works for me all year 'round.    One of my riding mates swears by his one-piece rainsuit to keep him dry.

The jackets are made from 600D cordura. I wear them touring. They are a long cut. The only way water will get in is if you allow water to pool.  All seams are double stitched and no exposed zippers. The jackets are as water proof as any Dri Rider. One of my mates did the Renmark Farride with the Adven-Tourer  jacket and a pair of Monza gloves. It was 3 days of rain from these parts and he remained dry, much to envy of the others in the group.

I had some Alpine Dry gloves that got a good workout on the Nambucca FarRide. They failed virtually straight away.  I have used Belstaff waterproof mittens for donkeys years with no problems, but they need rewaxing.  My Dririder boots also have had it as they leaked under the continual downpour.  Looks like the Monza gloves and Rossi boots are on my shopping list.

Many of the boots such as motordry & probably Dririder are waterproof because they use PU leather. The PU stands for polyurethane. The leather used is the poorest layer of the hide, with a layer of polyurethane for the top layer. PU leather will not develop a patina or suppleness nor otherwise "improve with age". With constant use the PU layer will crack and  peel away from the backing. Are the Rossi boots waterproof. The Rossi boots do have a lining which they refer to as Evertex lining. But it doesn't seem to last. But the waterproofing about by how well you look after the leather with conditioner & waterproofing treatment.

I regularly treat my boots with DUBBIN, and they've always remained waterproof.   Even a  pair of cheap DriRider boots wore out the sole but never leaked, and my current three year old AlpineStars remain waterproof, and usually get a DUBBIN treatment at least once a fortnight, even through summer.

If the boots are PU leather they won't get more supple with age. I was considering importing boots from Pakistan or from China, like I believe Alpine Star now are. But for the price ( $245 ), quality and fit the Rossi's couldn't be beaten. You are right maintenance is very important. Every one has there own experience and fit be it boots or jackets, this is mine.

We have been getting a few inquieries & orders for Oil filter & Mobil 1 oil. Don't start an oil thread  :law

The ST takes the K&N204 for the 1300 or the KN303 for the 1100. I advise checking with the K&N filter website.
The filters $19-90 less 10%
We are a distributor for Mobil. We only distribute their synthetic product - Mobil 1 racing oil fully synthetic 10w-40 4 Litre $78- 00 less 5%

Oil $74-10
Filter $17-90
Plus freight $15-50
= $107.50

If you wish to double the order the freight would remain.

Amazon sell K&N filters for the ST1300 for $52.00 plus P&H.

If it came with a foam ring, do not use it.  Causes all sorts of problems.  The foam is useful to keep for making up other bits and pieces, like that little foam filter at the front of the air cleaner.

I think I have only cleaned the K&N once in the time I have had the bike.  Might be due again when next I have some bodywork off.

I bought my filter on markdown when Action closed here, even before I bought an ST11..it was a sign from above..

I have been wearing around the house for 30 mins, and it fits and feels really good, has adjustment clips & straps all over it, I am looking forward to give this a test out on the bike in a couple of weeks, when we go to Biloela.

I think St.George would like this jacket with the Dragon Logo on the left pocket to  :thumb

I will be interested in how it works as a summer jacket if it can also do colder weather and rain. My old summer jacket is due for replacement, but it is no good for rain, so am after a jacket that can handle all sorts of weather (within reason) so I don't have to carry two jackets to allow for those times when you start out cold but then it gets hotter (or the other way around).

Well the Jacket cost me $157.50 plus postage after our discount.

it is advertised on their website as:

100% waterproof
Suitable for the harshest weather
Scotchlite 3M piping front & rear
Heavy duty Cordura Outer Shell with full flow mesh
The jacket features the latest in top quality materials.

to name a few anyway, so if it lives up to all that, i am going to be mighty pleased!

Things have been a busy in the land of Zen Motorcycle gear. December has been good as stuff is being purchased for Christmas.
Thanks to OzStock for the support over the year.
We do our best to supply quality product at very reasonable prices. It is a very interesting activity, growing a small business, that does not have a bucket of money to put into marketing.
Some still think of the internet is impersonal but it is still people doing business with people. I do the best to break down barriers and build trust.
We have just taken over distribution rights in Australia for a great product designed and manafuctured in the UK.

Debbonair Motorcycle AIR Seat Pad. The pad is made by danmedicasouth who specialize in pressure relief. Hospital beds, wheel chairs and the like. Their focus is on the comfort of the user.

Compared to another product on the market it would have to be said that it is similar. The main difference is in the manufacture.

DebbonAir pad joins are joined using high frequency welding.  High-frequency welding is used where a consistently strong leak proof seal is required. There are no adhesives used in this motorcycle air pad. The benefit being exceptionally low failure rate.

(http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh634/ZenMotorcycleGear/air%20seat/GNfnir.gif) (http://s1255.photobucket.com/user/ZenMotorcycleGear/media/air%20seat/GNfnir.gif.html)

(http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh634/ZenMotorcycleGear/air%20seat/joined-1.jpg) (http://s1255.photobucket.com/user/ZenMotorcycleGear/media/air%20seat/joined-1.jpg.html)

DebbonAir Air Pad Size

Length 39cm (15.5") x Width (widest part) 37cm (14.7") x Width (at the bottom) 19cm (7.5") x 5cm high (2")

Price is $118 less 10% = $106 plus $7-50 freight.

The air pad is not on www.zenmotorcyclegear.com.au (http://www.zenmotorcyclegear.com.au) yet so any enquiries just PM me.

marx
