I don't have a Spot, and hence feel a little inadequate.

But, if anyone (who is on Facebook) wants to track me, I check-in every opportunity I can - morning coffees, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, etc ........

Regardless, probaby better than Nigel, not sure if he even knows what a Spot is.

I use Bubbler on my Android phone.

It uploads when I'm next in phone coverage, as does Stimpy, hence he 'disappeared' for 3 days.

Downloaded the app blubber GPS lite, but only get blank black page when open. Is it the right Blubber? There is a $15 blubber also. Can't seem to get any connection or link with Spotwalla.
 Advice appreciated.

I bought the pro, but lite should work also.  I know I had a bit of trouble before getting to work, but it did eventually.

If you follow these instructions on Spotwalla once you got it on your phone all should be good...$15 pro is a good investment...also remember Bubbler is mobile based not satellite so when out of range it won't send your track but will catch it up when back in mobile service

Wendy is now an hour travel south of Coober Pedy (marked in green as 91)

From memory, I think it's about 5+ hours from Coober Pedy to Pt Augusta, I am unsure where she will stop for the night?

You may as well.  You can't check in anywhere local when you get off the boat so if you've had a good night's sleep you may as well hit the road for a day.  I chose to explore the south and slowly head north.

Sadly, they do.  I've replanned via the Newell because the Pacific is cut in the Taree area after reopening last night.  It might be open again by late morning, but I can't take that chance.

Just saw the Pacific is cut at Wardell now.

Wouldn't you know it!  The Legacy tunnel was closed, then when I got onto the Ipswich motorway the signs said the Cunningham Hwy was closed at Aratula due fires.  At least the lovely Toowoomba bypass was open and the roos were behaving themselves on the Gore and Newell hwys.

The OZSTOC rides SPOTlink is still active following my post-run ride.
I got away a bit before 9:00 after saying farewell to the few remaining campers. The best route took me up over yesterday's mountain (as per Bodo) but I didn't have to contend with any logging trucks. It was horribly windy up on the plateau and I was glad to descend to Bothwell for a late coffee/early lunch.
I didn't encounter rain until Maydena, but then it was continuous drizzle and blustery wind to Gordon Dam. All my photos of the dam have raindrops on the lens.
Back in the National Park Hotel now with my gear drying on the electric heater. The bike is under cover in a big shed- the first time it's been sheltered this trip (apart from the ferry).  I can highly recommend tnis pub. For $70 you get a nice room with bed, fancy soaps, lounge chair, cupboard, bedside table and heater. There is a very good kitchenette with real milk for beverages and biscuits laid on. The restaurant menu is very good and fairly priced.
Tomorrow I'm off to explore whatever there is in Launy that I haven't seen before then overnight and work towards the ferry.
Spotwalla has gone weird- it initialises in Nashville, which I believe is the home of Jason Jonas, the SPOTWalla guru, then stops down south before Strathgordon.  It will be interesting to see what it does tomorrow.  I'll probably turn it off when I get to Launceston.

The new Spotwalla map is better as the tracks follow the roads rather than straight lining between points.

When first loaded though, it starts in Nashville.

What a difference a day makes.

Yesterday
11.5deg somewhere around Kimba.
40deg by the time I reached Ceduna
Waited 6 hours.
I left Ceduna just after 4pm.
Reached 48deg as I passed Penong.
A dramatic cool change about an hour after I left Ceduna, dropping around 20deg.
By the time I reached Nullarbor, it was around 18deg. Still blowing crazy S/W.

Today cruisy 14deg to 28deg with gentle breeze.
All unpacked and washing sorted
Grandkids came over
Showered
Bike cleaning tomorrow  :thumbs

An early start, Wendy is already an hour up the highway towards Tennant Creek.

Bodø is already cruising again (always an early rider) ... now approaching Forth Road for the eighth? time  :grin

Cerebral Knievel is heading north from Broadford already past Seymour.

Things change so much in 2 hours.
Bodø found another untraveled road, Cerebral Knievel is almost at Albury, and Wendy had a pause at BP north Tennant Creek.
Ride safe.

I’m ok, tyre issues have resulted in me pulling the pin on my planned Centreline and call in the support vehicle/trailer. The heat and rough roads have taken their toll and my rear tyre is unlikely to make it safely to Darwin. I’m continuing north while my daughter drives south.

Wendy was attempting an IBA ride home, Centreline 36, but alas her rear tyre won't last the trip. Her daughter is Southbound from Darwin with the trailer and they will meet up at Daly Waters to return home safely.

Yes.  Went to the cbd to check my mail, there was something in there that needed attention and I realised I had no milk so went for a walk to Woolies.  I've been 'homne' for about two hoiurs now, done the stuff I had to and unloaeded the bike.  It's in the shed now.  I have to take a shower now.  It's hot here, ajnd with all the panniers, top box and duffel bag full I know where to put my hiviz jacket so wore it until I got home.  Now the big question is shave or not to shave.  I'll write a trip report later.

Wendy Wendy, so cool and trendy

Rode her bike to the Annual Meet.

Along came a Spyder, which cruised alongside her

Separated by just a few feet.

Ha ha, when I set up m spot I didn't know what my plans were for after Tassie (ie. meet friends in Melbourne or be creative coming home) so the date was set for today inclusive, so it added my jinning around yesterday.  So I threw in a meal marker attending a friday lunch from another forum.

Seems our mode of transport is far more reliable than spot.

Probably down to the device that Bubbler is in.  When I had a GPS tracker in my phone it dropped in and out regularly, but since moving it to a tablet it hasn't dropped out once.
