Here is the link to Corbin Seats to suit the Honda ST1100 & the Honda ST1300, they make a very good product

Has anyone fitted a Corbin seat? I'm considering one as an alternative to a refoamed/recovered stock seat so I can keep my stock seat and not have any downtime of my bike.
-
Corbin Seats have an agreement that they will not sell new seats direct to us in Australia, you have to deal with VPW Australia, in Melbourne, :wht13 the guy to speak to is Ian Walker,
I have had a couple of Corbin Seats, personally I prefer the "Close" version which is designed for people who like to sit closer to the tank, the standard version doesn't suport my butt enough and allows me to slide back when I take off quick.
I rode from Peth to Bathurst then down to Phillip Island and back to W.A. a couple of years ago and found that after I broke it in it was quite comfortable

I had a Corbin seat on each of my original ST1100 and Blackbird. They weren't too bad, despite the cost, though I didn't think they were what they were cracked up to be.
For latter bikes I have used John Moorehouse at Ergo seats (I didn't know of John when I bought the Corbins). Couple of advantages in using John are certainly cost; the ability to have the seat(s) adjusted for yourself and pillion plus the fact that John is 30 mins down the road from where I live. The down side is a little time without the seat which kinda makes it hard to ride the bike for up to a week.
Guess it comes down to personal choice in the end.

I've had a Corbin on an ST1300, and for similar money you can get a custom made seat from the Moorehouse brothers.
I'd agree with Dennis- go with the latter. The Corbins look as nice as John's, but they're not as comfortable.

As for down time at John Moorehouse ,,,,not for the 1100 as he has my old one so all you need to do is return your old one to him when your new on arrives,
Now all that is needed is for some to get hold of a spare 1300 seat from some where and send it to him so the same thing can be done.
Any takers

Met a few that have had Corbins and met a few that got rid of them for a john Moorehouse as well.
My bum smiles every time I sit on my bike and I have a Moorehouse

Well I do have my 1300 seat in the shed but it would be a pity to cut it up as I think it did about 500 kms on it from new

Personal Choice. I had mine cut up as the original Honda seat for the 1300 was a bit of a nut crusher after a days ride. Sympathy is good, practicality is better I would suggest.
When I went to see John about the 1300 seat he commented that most riders of 1300s that had been to see him had the same problem. That of sliding forward onto the tank cover over a long days ride. It tends to get a little uncomfortable for the family jewels.

Ive got a one piece corbin seat with a back rest for passenger, its comfortabe also leather and soft
Only me being six footish like to have seat high , one piece is only fitting on low possition with no hight adjustment.
So its really good for the shorter riders, no heating

I really wanted a Corbin but the one piece style turned me off so I bought a Sargent. It's a great seat but no where near as good as the Corbin I had on my Blackbird
-
I asked the Australia distributor for the cost and was quoted twice that of the US price. Gave me some rubbish about import tax so I bought mine through a US mailbox service.
I don't mind paying a little extra to local businesses - I do object however to being ripped off.
Business need to understand that the public won't tolerate this especially given that goods are so available on-line. I've received goods from the US in 3 days.
And I'm not sure about the 1 piece comment. My seat is two pieces.
Adrian.

Bought mine about 3 years ago & all they had then was a one piece seat
-
That's funny because that's when I bought mine. Perhaps it was a particular design/model thing. Mine came with the ability to swap out the pillion seat with the Corbin Smuggler. Wish I had purchased the smuggler at the same time.

-
Must have been earlier then? as the Smuggler was not available when I got mine or so I was told by the Aussie distributor
-
If u want a great seat check out metcruz seats in dubbo half the price of a corbin and great job
