Not really an issue for us here, as the US bikes have a headlight cutout whan they press the starter.  Our lights just stay on, so no break in the HIDs starting.

Umm.... the ST13 does have the headlight cut-out when starting.

The light is on when you turn on the ignition, and cuts out for the starting process of the motor.

My HIDs come on, start building up intensity, then get whacked by the cut out, and have to build up again when the engine is started.
