WA Bike rego/licence transfer after private sale
« on: February 06, 2019, 11:59:06 AM »
Hi all,

Looking for some WA knowledge on what the process and likely fees would be for transferring ownership of a privately purchased bike? A link to a page will work for me.

Cheers,

Collin

I spent (2007-2010) sometime in WA and I had to prove (previous rego. cert. is enough) that the bike and car had been in my name longer than 12 months otherwise the bike and car would have had an inspection plus the needed a weighbridge receipt for the weight. Seems the weight given in the owners manual wasn't good enough. So I didn't worry about it.

Hmm. I live in WA, and I'm purchasing a WA bike.

I've found the page about transfer of vehicle licence which says there are fees, but doesn't specify how much that fee is.

I know when I did this in Qld, There was a small fee and stamp duty.

I'm looking to get specific information, which I haven't been able to find yet.

Think is is up to the seller to start the process but you pay the transfer fee.

From your question I didn't think the bike was a local one otherwise I would have put Glen's link up.

Not that easy for you guys buy the look of it.

Transfer fees here.

https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/aboutus/transport-related-fees.asp

Link to the form, Transfer fee isnt very much

https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/licensing/LBU_F_VL_MR9_VehicleTransfer.pdf

P.S. the form can be filled in on a computer and printed I think.
