Exhaust system
« on: October 01, 2019, 08:17:09 AM »
Hi  all I’m thinking of up dating the  exhaust system
On 2008  st 1300  she’s done about 78 000 km
Just want to get a little bit nice sound and perhaps a little bit of fuel economy boost
I would appreciate any thoughts and ideas cheers 🍻  :chocolate-box-smiley-emoticon
mum told me i was born with a bar  later in life i found out it was a handlebar

Let's face it- it's all about the sound.  You'll never recoup the cost in fuel savings.  Might as well claim a power boost while you're about it- that's more likely than a fuel saving.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I decided to have my exhaust modified (08 model 124000km) by an expert (Redline Exhausts here in SA). I like the sound, deeper note without being obnoxious. It was much less expensive than Staintune or Delkavic or any of the others at $300 all up. I like to kid myself it is more fuel efficient with an improvement in power and throttle response - but if there is improvement it's negligible. Would I do it again? Yes, I reckon I would purely because I didn't really like the sewing machine/Jetsons sound - call it a character flaw.
Cheers Mark.
