I decided to get a new exhaust on the beaST as other vehicles on the road seem to have difficulties noticing me
and a bit more noise seam to help them (and give the
a bit of a rumble
)
After looking around and checking reviews and so on I, cam across the Delkevic exhaust. The Australian supplier sells them for $700 (including delivery) through ebay and is located in QLD
Anyway I ordered a set of the 18” Carbon ones in the morning and they arrived by courier that arvo, they have a few other designs for the 1100 and 1300 but I liked the look of the carbon
Now I’m no mechanic :( but I was able to change the original for the new ones in a short time without any issues
They sound awesome, weigh bugger all and look a treat, anyway check out the pics, and since we can now link video
I’ll have to do a sound clip some time
UpdateFirst remove the old exhaust cans
This is done by loosing the two bolts where the exhaust can connects to the exhaust pipe just under the rider’s footpads
Then removing the 2 bolts holding the can to the bike.
The old can will now just slip out.
(The new exhaust can setup includes (for each side) exhaust can and a small piece of pipe, and 1 clamp, 1 strap)
Connect the pipe to the can and attach the small clamp to hold them together (just loosely so any minor adjustments while installing can be made)
Slide the other end of the pipe into the exhaust pipe under the rider’s footpads.
Now place the large strap around the can and bolt it to the bike using the original rear mounting point.
(When you attach the strap around the can it will sit slightly to one side as can be seen in the pictures below (pictures taken of the accelerator side can). I found the best fit was to attached the strap on the tyre side of the bracket.
Now tighten all the bolts (the little strap and the 2 bolts connecting the can to the exhaust under the rider’s footpad.)
Repeat for the other side

Enjoy the new sound
