Over Filling Crankcase?
« on: March 20, 2017, 11:58:40 PM »
I had the 24000km service carried out at The Hondashop in Midland and they significantly overfilled the crankcase. The porthole indicated no airspace in the viewing area.
Had a significant leak by the time I got to Dowerin. By the time I returned home, the amount of oil leaking was much worse.

So I don't know how much extra oil was used incorrectly in the oilchange.

Question is "Can overfilling cause a detrimental effect to Oil Seals and gaskets"?

Bike is going in to The Hondashop for rectification tomorrow.

Oh yes it can!  One of our number sold his ST because of internal damage to the engine from over-filling!     :eek
Drain it down ASAP!       :crazy
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
