South Australia, I just got my renewal in today

both 1100 and 1300s are:-

3 months $123.00
12 months $454.00

Forgot to mention that this a country rate and is slightly cheaper than a bike registered in the city. In that case fees are:-

3 months $145
12 Months $498

Last year I paid $406 in Qld. I think the 11 & 13 will be the same here.

ACT $588 up until November 2012.  We don't have any choice, just NRMA for the third party cover.

Breakdown is registration $96, CTPI $474, and road rescue and safety fees $18.

For ST1300 rego alone in NSW the price is $112, but then CTP insurance of $509.00 (cheapest) gets added so the total comes to  :think1  :CB-- $621

For the ST1100 the CTP is $330 (this is with GIO who are the cheapest).

All this is for a bike housed in Castle Hill

Skip,

No difference in WA, it doesnt matter if a bike can be 1 up or 2 rego is the same.

That's odd, since the largest component is the CTP, and the risk to the insurer is doubled with 2 seats.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

If they're slow on the uptake about taxing folk I might be looking for an Entry Visa.
Over here they tax the water!  You think I'm kidding, don't you?

That's nothin Biggles. The Feds have worked out a way to tax air. Yep. The call it a "carbon tax" . My dear old Dad once said " Son, one day they work out how to tax the air we breathe".

Because you were tired of freezing your gonads off 9 months of the year?

No rego label in WA, so that must be the difference...

No label in SA since July 2011 either.

Royalties from the mines certainly helps WA plus their rego system is weight based for most vehicles.

and  :hijacked country pensioners who don't have access to public transport get a $500 a year fuel/taxi voucher to make up for no access to pensioner fare concessions.

In Qld it looks like the size of bike is irrelevant, it's just single or dual seat.  I was half-thinking about getting a 125 scooter to get in and out of town, but without changing it to a single seat rego would be the full $406.  Third Party Property insurance was also pretty much the same as the ST.

Seems crazy to me, but then I'm still used to the UK system where capacity affects the road tax and insurance group affects the insurance.  Still, seems pretty pointless to get a scooter which is a shame.

SA is capacity based as well :-

upto 250cc.......most learners
251 to 660cc - includes some LAMS models
and 661cc plus

Difference is only in CTP premium and looks like SA is the only state that as reduced rates for non metropolitan areas
