Is this related to a faulty stand switch?

Possible but unlikely....There are numerous error codes that the F1 light could be eluding too. Could be heat, fuel or electrical.

Do some searches on the forum in the 1300 section, there are a number of articles and error code discussions.

Cos when I read about the stand I flicked it down then back up and the light disappeared. So bike I shouldn't ride then if it's worse.

Its actually the FI light meaning Fuel Injection.

There are different flash sequences indicating different codes. e.g 2 long flashes and 1 short flash would be 21.

There's a list somewhere in the ST1300 section.
