A BIG bloody waste

38km's west of Moranbah on the Peak Downs Highway,
but could be any road in Australia.

OK, I know it's not an ST, however I am an ST owner. Scrap did a photo in front the pub in Cunderdin. So here's my truck.

Strewth- I never realized there was a fake Ettamogah Pub somewhere in Oz.  The real one is here near Brisbane:

http://www.aussieworld.com.au/web/ettamogah-pub.html

I'm looking for a pic of my bike in front- I got one somewhere- you know what these Hard Drives are like   >:(
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

The "real" one is down near Albury:

The Ettamogah Pub is a cartoon pub that was featured in the now defunct Australasian Post magazine. The cartoonist Ken Maynard, loving empty spaces
and having nothing around him, enjoyed an area just outside of Albury at Table Top, named Ettamogah, thus christening the name of his now famous pub
the "Ettamogah Pub" . The first "Ettamogah Pub" of a chain of such pubs was built there and copies now exist in various parts of Australia including Sydney, the
Sunshine Coast and Cunderdin, Western Australia.

Have to agree with you there I went to the first one when it opened in 1986 on the Ettamogah Flats just north of Albury

Yeh scarp, I went to that one when I was on a coarse at the Bandiana Army Camp in '88 I think.

The story goes that when they put the truck on the roof, which hides the airconditioning unit, they put it on facing the wrong way. When this was noticed, the cartoonist drew the next cartoon with it missing and when the manager of the pub was asked where it
was, he said it had gone for service. The following cartoon showed it back in place but facing the way. Which is the way it is now.

This could also go in the ride report topic but it can also go here because of this.

Giant Gum Tree in Orroroo, SA. https://goo.gl/maps/jmjA6PWPz1s

We stopped of on our way to Whyalla this mornning. We've been past the turn off a few times but it's the first time we topped of to have a look.

Details of the Tree.

Heather standing beside tree.

The Bike and me (surprised the camera still worked after this shot) in front of tree.

We had to take a second trip to Whyalla so I could have a wisdom tooth removed..... :'(.

So I guess now I'm only half wise now since I still have two left.  :think1 But still wise enough to keep the  :bl11

Alan.

P.S Hope the dog to match the big tree has long gone.
