Cheers Garry, you could very well be correct re possibly being AMC as they seem to be selling pretty much the same stuff...

Re the Bike Quip screens, although not cheap, especially taking in account the postage from the UK, they are a very high quality item.
I have one on my ST1300 and I'm happy to recommend them.
The owner of Bike Quip is actually a member on here too...  :thumbs

Anyways, whatever way you end up going, here's hoping you end up with the result you're seeking...

Cheers  :beer

1. Where was the LL was located? Looks about 1.5 inches (4cm) higher than the stoc screen? Was that by instructions provided or you testing different heights?

2. How much upward flow did this position create? Did the wind flow clear your helmet?

Hi Garry,
Unfortunately I can't remember the exact setup as I haven't had the old ST1100 for 8 years now but your guess sounds about right :thumbsup

When I brought the bike the lip had already been set up by the previous owner so I don't know how he came to the decision to set it up at that height or if he had followed any instructions.

As for the upward flow, I do recall that when riding on the highway in the rain the rain went over my visor.

I hope this helps :thumbs

Cheers

Hi Garry

I have been looking at the LL extensions for some time and finally bit the bullet in November and ordered one for my ST1100. It arrived today and although the add stated it would fit all models, that is not the case. I did some searching this morning and it appears that the earlier model ST1100 stock screens are narrower than the later ones and the later ones flare out at the top. Mine is a 2003 (ex police) and it flares out at the top, so the LL I received this morning wont fit. I have emailed the supplier (Australian Motorcycle Components) to discuss.
If you haven't ordered one yet, keep this in mind as there is a brand new one here in Cairns and depending on the outcome from AMC, they or I would be in a position to supply you with one if it is suitable for your bike.
I have attached a few photos of my screen and the LL screen measures approx 350mm inside to inside where it mounts to the stock screen.

Hopefully this helps

Hi pricemob,
I just looked at partzilla and there is definitely multiple partnumbers for the windscreens: one for 1995 onwards, others before 1995. I haven't checked which the police models got. My 1995 flares out at the top with cats eyes. I think we will need clarification from AMC and/or the Laminar Lip company themselves as they claim it fits all years. Refer: https://laminarlip.com/st1100.php
The owner's photos show a motley collection of fitments so I wouldn't be surprised.

Are you saying that the lip is not wide enough to cover the entire screen at the top? I am betting they will tell you to live with it or buy the Laminar Windshield / LIP Combo. Pics from Shiney seem to show a narrow screen. Here is an example with someone who has the same problem: http://imagemeister.blogspot.com/2010/08/does-laminar-lip-fit-my-st.html
