FI Blinking Light Codes.....

(1/3) > >>

Diesel:
These are the codes list for the 03 to 06 RR

If there's a code, the FI will flash your code(s). Count the flashes.

There's long blinks and short blinks.

Long = 1.3 seconds

Short = .5 seconds

If you have a long blink, then 3 short ones.....that's 13.

A long blink = 10

A short blink = 1

9 short blinks = 9....and so on.

Let us know....

CODES:

0 - bank angle sensor, ECM, PGM-FI fuse
1 - MAP sensor
2 - MAP sensor vacuum hoses, or sensor itself
7 - ECT sensor poorly connected or open circuit
8 - TP sensor, TP senspr wiring
9 - IAT sensor connection, or open wire
10 - Baro sensor, or connection, or wiring
11 - Vehicle speed sensor, or connection or wiring
12 - #1 injector connection, or faulty injector
13 - #2 injectior connection or faulty injector
14 - #1 connection or open/shorted circuit
15 - #2 connection or open/shorted circuit
18 - Cam pulse sensor, connection or loose sensor
19 - Ignition pulse sensor, connection or loose sensor
20 - faulty E-PROM in ECM.

Hi Diesel , I am having my FI red light coming on  :well ,the workshop mechanic said to stop put the bike in neutral and put side stand out the light will start flashing , count the flashes , 2 long & 5 short he is saying that it is a oxygen sensor , there is no noise or change in engine sounds or performance when this happens . Stop turn off engine and it resets , this intermittent at present  :||||, so will see what happens .

Diesel:
Yeah G'day Mystic2 - probs like that totally suck eggs, as you need consistency to form a line of logic - particularly in the process of problem elimination.

Is it consistently a 25?

And are you CERTAIN there is no performance drop, as this would be your key to richer or leaner fuel mixtures dealt by the oxygen sensor...

so monitor your av. fuel consumption, and the throttle response (both initial kick, and her constant acceleration) when you give her a boot.

SAAZ??? HEEEEEELLLLLLLLP!

That's all I've got Mystic - but certainly things to monitor and report back to the mech.

Cheers, Diesel

Mystic2:
Hey thanks Diesel ,  I will follow your Tips , being a sparky they nothing more frustrating than having a intermittent fault ! :think1

I can't help with practical knowledge of the error codes, but I know there are more than 30 plus of them with the ST13. If the bike still seems to go ok probably nothing major - could be as simple as a connection. Lots of bikes keep on going even with error codes coming up, its just their way of telling you to give them some attention :)  Oxygen sensor is just one on many possible problems, and again it may not be a major one to worry about.

I have a copy of the ST13 workshop manual so can post up pages of the fault codes if required.  As with cars, read off the error code and read in the manual about what it means.  Quite often it could be just a connection that is faulty.  The wiring on the knock sensors is a known problem, and there are a few threads about that.

Intermittent faults are the worst to diagnose!
