BP at The Lakes
« on: March 16, 2016, 11:12:50 PM »
Stopped at the Lakes BP on Monday. There is a notice saying it will be closed for redevelopment from the 1st April for about 6 months.

Assuming it's not an April Fool's joke, 6 months is a very long time for a servo to close.  We've had them close over east to install diesel at every bowser, and it takes a month, tops.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

It is a very old establishment and there was a crew there drilling 100 mm holes every where in the ground. I think there will be a complete demolition of the site followed by a major redevelopment.
But yes the significance of the date made me think twice as I was starting this thread.

If the old tanks have been leaking, they have to decontaminate the surrounding soil and that can take a very long time.
Cheers,
Gary
