Winter Gloves

I need to purchase some new winter gloves, I have Dririder ladies winter gloves that where a $89 glove and even with an additional thermal liner glove they are still not enough. I REALLY feel the cold in my hands 

My plan is to buy some Revit Winter and waterproof gloves that get a good report with our club discount of 10%. But just before I do is there another glove I should be looking at for serious winter protection.

Next step is heated pillion grips somewhere

I have some WFX Tech  Advanced Gloves Five that have an inner waterproof liner, insulation etc.  I have only used them once to try out, and they were too warm when the sun came out so went back to normal gloves with heated grips on.  I am sure I will need them on a properly cold and foggy day.

Agree with ABE, this is the way to go for you young lady, go the lot though, socks, trousers, jacket and gloves

Trina found the trip home from Toowoomba very cold on her hands and went in to Kathmandu and bought a pair of thin Merino wool gloves. (about the thickness of cotton liners)
They fit inside her normal gloves and kept her hands much warmer.
She would recommend them to anyone and only about $40 from memory.

I tried a pair of heated glove liners last year on loan from Saaz, and although they were warm and cosy the wires and the battery pack I had to carry were a pain in my bum.


Don't have core temp problems as I have my very cosy Jett vest, at least with it the batteries and short wires are part of the singlet top

If the battery pack is a pain in the bum, try putting the battery pack in your pocket, just  out loud

I have used Damart gloves for years, handy for use inside waterproof wax cotton mitts, then for standing around a camp in the freezing cold. I have grown up since then

I have a silk balaclava to keep my head warm and a pair of Damart gloves worn inside my motorcycling gloves . . Keeps me warm . . I also always take a pair of light weight and a pair of heavy weight gloves with me to cover the changes in climate/environment/temperatures that I tend to ride thru on many of my rides . . . Read, he rides so slow that he starts out from Canberra in Winter and by the time he gets to Sydney it is Summer . .

Anyway when yuz getz the trailer, you can take the mink fur witcha . . .

I'm also a fan of Damart Thermolactyl, (as previously mentioned). They would make great liners for an oversize and waterproof outer, which could be a man's armoured glove for protection. When you have arrived, they can look stylish, or suave, and keep your fingers warm at the same time.

Just attach them around the passenger grab rails then wrap some sort of foam grips over the top


It may do the trick

Already thought about that one Shiney, even bought a Vince Strang Motorcycles heated grip kit......


The catch is the Russell seat and the way it is designed makes the pillion handles virtually unusable as the seat comes over the top of the rails

Bugger, I had completely forgotten to take the Russell into account

The only way I can think of that the heat pads would work with the seat would be by adding an extended grab rail or some sort of bar extender that grips could be added to

Something like this attached to the rear of the grab rails near the top box (to keep it out of the way) maybe?

Where do you put your hands when on the bike........Heather just rests her hands on her lap or if it's to cold (at night in June) puts her hands between her legs..... her hands are rarely in the airflow.

I mostly have mine in the same place, lap or between legs. They don't steam to be in the wind, guess I must a cold frog.

The disposable heat pads are another option, we thought core temp was a good place to start so went with a Jett vest that is great, even use it doing my soccer mummy duties in winter and it's brilliant 


But my hands are still cold, stopping the wind is a good place to start I guess

Have a look at these.  I tried them last time I was in Tassie.  They work well in pockets, but I'm sure you could also put them in gloves or mittens.  Best thing is they give instant heat, and they're reusable.
