Middleton ride
« on: April 01, 2013, 03:10:13 PM »
Stinky Pete kept a road secret on the Saturday ride.
Helen and I had to waste time before going over to Kangarilla and so finished up at Cape Jervis to look over to Kangaroo Island.
Went back up  via the west  side of the peninsula along B23 or Main South Road.
Absolutley magic. Good surface, great variety of corners, awesome views at times and the best bit was we missed all of those winds that hit the east side.
Next time you are there - try it and be pleasantly surprised.
Never under estimate the predictability of stupidity.

I lived in Port Willunga for a while and I can agree that the roads in that area are magic.

My wonderful dilema was that there are so many great roads and places to visit on the Fleurieu Peninsula..... and yes, the road to Cape Jervois is one of the gems, as is Range Road from Victor Harbor to Cape Jervois, Sellicks Hill, Yankalila to Myponga, and Paris Creek Road from Strathalbyn to Meadows and many more.   I was constrained by a ride length of about 200km, and a decent venue for lunch.  Give me a 600km day in the region, and I'll give you all of the best roads in the region.

Watch out mate, a few people might take you up on that.
Last time over there got lost and I think I covered have the peninsula before finding meadows and the road to Kangarilla.
You're right - some great areas.
