If anyone is looking for a long distance tourer with all the fancy stuff:-

I was really impressed with Saaz's when I rode it from Derby to Perth, two consecutive 1200km days
I don't mechanically as nice as the ST1300 but sure has everything on it that Honda should have added to the ST

I have John’s SE and it has all the fancy bits, it is extremely economical on fuel, is faster and very comfortable.

I toured Vic, SA& WA last October/November with Tipto and Duncan, it ran very well and I was impressed with it compared to my ST.

Have both but contemplating moving to a lighter bike as I age!

That is the challenge. To find a lighter replacement for the ST. So far I've come up empty handed. I'm in search of a 'sub 1000cc' lightweight tourer. I'm not into LD riding as such, but want the upright riding position with reasonable weather protection suitable for leisurely weekends away either solo or 2 up.

Try the Kawasaki Versys 1000SE..might even still get a 2019 cheaper... https://kawasaki.com.au/shop/motorcycles/sport/2020-versys-1000-se/

Yeah I have a mate who has one. I haven't had a ride yet, but it is only 50kg lighter or thereabouts. They definitely get a good review though.
