Pocket STocker:
So tell me guys and girls, how are we going to get our Ladies and Pillions in even this part of the forum ??  :think1

What do you think would entice them in here to have their say and share their experiences with us ??  :think1

Now I guess there are riders either with or without Pillions who have no interest in this section of the forum and see riding as their pastime and hobby away from their partner and thats all good if that works for you,  :thumb but what I'm trying to promote is an avenue for Pillions or even prospective Pillions an outlet to explore the world motorcycling with your chosen mate.

If we can promote the "Happy Wife, Happy Life" pathway towards motorcycling, well you never know it may mean more saddle time for you.

Have your say guys and air some ideas below  :whistle

Don't know that you'd want my pillion in here, she's only 13, although she does have my sense of humour, so maybe you would  >:() :eek :fp

Biggles:
My pillion is flat out keeping up with her real life, let alone her SMS and Facebook life.
You're doing a good job, Pockey.  Keep doing what you're doing.  You just don't have as big a demographic as the ST bikes.

Whizz:
Much as I love my Lady Wife, I have asked her more than once if she would like to be involved in the Club and/or come out on the back of the Bike and her flat answer was No. For the simple reason that she is really not interested in Bikes of any shape, size or colour, and treats the ST as strictly my hobby, as sewing, knitting and crochet are hers. She cannot understand why I would need to have her involved in my riding, nor can she think of anything that would actually interest her in being on the back of a Bike.

Now I fervently believe that ladies (and any other pillion riders) can find overwhelming interest in being on the back of a bike, but only for those who actually find this type of pastime fascinating. For those who are not inclined that way, the concept of thundering around the roads in a position that they can't actually see much from (and this seems to be the case for most women... I'm 188cm, my wife is about 155cm, so she can't actually see the world ahead) must be viewed as both fairly pointless and somewhat frightening. It can be cold, wet and dismal, and without the overwhelming interest in actually controlling the bike...i.e. riding, it must be both scary and boring for those not interested in the process.

Someone once described riding a motorbike to me as "...long periods of boredom, punctuated by moments of sheer panic" and whilst I don't necessarily agree with the "boredom" bit, the "sheer panic" bit certainly applies!!, so if my lovely lady wife can't see a reason to plant her rump on the back seat then I see no reason for trying to make her.

My personal opinion entirely, but strongly supported by She Who Must Be Obeyed!!!

Pocket STocker:
Thanks for having your say guys, whilst I absolutely adore  Pillioning I can well understand the lack of desire in participating in a past time that lacks appeal to a person.

What i really want to focus on is those potential pillions that have even the slightest desire and help overcome their fears and concerns and get them out there in this world of motorcycling that we all LOVE so much.

Even if we can convert just one more pillion over to this dark side my work here is done. LOL

So persist I will.  :thumbs
