Somewhere local?  Good luck, unless you pull up a bit of grass and roll your swag out under the stars.   But isn't it only 250km each way for you?  Might include a bit of gravel.

If you're travelling via the outer-metro area, I'm sure someone will offer some backyard space for your swag, or even a downstairs bed.

All being well I should be ok for this one too. Re fires we shall have to see. Pretty sure I read Omeo and Swifts Creek escaped the fire  and are a fair way away.
Pretty much anything could happen in a few weeks though.

Called the Whally Pub on Thursday to confirm our lunch booking, all is okay.  When asked what time, I advised that riders would be arriving from around 12:00pm, probably sit down at 12:30pm and eat at 1:00pm.

Now, who has the VIC flag?  Probably me, but too lazy to go down to the garage to check, easier asking here.

In the meantime, we have attending:

Destination is still subject to weather and fire alerts.  If conditions dictate a change is needed, a hastily rearrangement to somewhere more suitable will be arranged, if possible.

Once you leave "Rawson" the road is quite windy with the odd hairpin corner thrown in for good measure...in other words, it's great fun on a motorcycle!  :beer

Depends which route you take.  There was some talk earlier about taking the South Face Road (good gravel), but seeing as it took me so long to clean my ST, not now for me.

Will be at Yarra Junction around 10:00 am for a coffee - coffee shop on left when coming from Melbourne - look for the shiney black ST1300, and the white Moto Guzzi.  Tag along and it'll be all sealed road.

Except when VicRoads (or whatever their name is this week) have done really shyte job clearing excess stone from a recently applied spray seal (spray the bitumen binder, spread the stone, sweep the excess stone - but not this time).  Resulted in a 4km to 5km at sub-60km/h.

Despite that, an excellent day.  Like most of the other RTE's good venue, great food, greater company.  Here's a coupla pics, and a coupla more outside. Someone will be along soon with some pics from inside.

Ok, FISH here {Local Not S.A}, when I read el supremo`s ride report I thought WTF. I actually expected that I would be sitting on top of the pub with my bike up a tree. Not to be. I and my BMW aka Beautiful Magnificent Workmate, are there in many of the photo's, just look for the fat one { not the bike } but me, I am there standing next to Di in a blue {BMW colour} t-shirt. And again in another wearing my club Jacket.
So just a minor omission from those, that should know better. And you know who you are..............

As for the ride, great day, lots of curves that were testing my lack of skills. But makes me a better rider, like to think so. Always watching how others operate their ride. Well planned and a very nice catchup.

Michael, you were never gonna get away with it.

Both Sue & I really enjoyed the afternoon...How could we not when there were so many lovely people attending!  :clap
To top it all off the food was pretty damn good (even if the chef did go walkabout for a while) and the ride in & out of Walhalla was great fun!
Looking forward to (hopefully) attending the next RTE...

Good to be able to put faces to names. The route 425 road to Powelltown has seriously dangerous gravel on a new bitumen section that was windy and all downhill. The funny thing was that it was still very rough as well.
