Whizz (Paul) has passed away.
« on: November 08, 2014, 05:28:16 PM »
We regret to advise that Whizz (Paul) has passed away in his home in South Australia with his wife Matylda by his side after a considerable battle with a terminal illness.

Paul was passionate about his family, his motorcycling and our club where he served as an OzSTOC Moderator until early 2014.

Pauls wife Matylda advises that they are having a small private family service, but believed Paul would appreciate a toast with a Guiness at a future club function.

The team at OzSTOC have conveyed our sincere condolences to Matylda and family on behalf of the club, and we will undertake a toast at the 2015 National Rally in QLD in remembrance and celebration of our ridden on mate Whizz.

Regards

Team OzSTOC

A true friend, willing to share with and encourage anyone who came his way.
Sorry at our loss.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Ride on mate. We have lost a great friend, an invaluable resource for OzSTOC, and one hell of a funny bugger whose company was always greatly enjoyed by all around him at RTEs. Condolences to Matylda and family whose loss is even greater than ours. RIP champ.

Wow sad news indeed. As Leo has mentioned, we spoke about Whizz today at Esk. I mentioned that I had just sent an email to Paul this week to see how he was doing. I am shocked. RIP Paul. My condolence to Matylda and family.

This sad news came as quite a sickening shock to me when I first read the heading.

The last I heard was WHIZZ was on the road to recovery and was moving to South Aust to be assisted by friends and family.

I never met you Paul but I now hope all your pains have now ended, rest in peace young fellow.

Please pass on my condolences to his family.

Sad regards

HOFFY

I too had thought that the return to Adelaide was a new beginning after successful treatment.
After Paul's withdrawal from social media i often wondered how he was.
On the few times i met Whizz post treatment he was a true character - positively beaming to be at club events all the while missing his STeed enormously.
Rest in peace mate.
