EXTENSIONS - Brake & Clutch Hydraulic Lines - ST1100
« on: April 30, 2013, 08:31:19 AM »
Fellow Members,
I have '98 non abs ST1100 and recently obtained ROX Risers - my dilema being (and I knew) I need longer or extensions to existing lines.
Can be obtained OS, but is anyone aware of locally sourced provider for:
1. Extensions - ready made or to manufacture
2. Supplier (reputable) of longer lines.
Reply here or send a PM

My research for local suppliers has resulted in these:

http://www.mobileautohoses.com.au
http://www.spinnersauto.com.au
http://helperformance.com.au
http://www.eastcoastcustom.com.au

I haven't used any of them, so I can't recommend any of them. I got my extensions from eBay. It is important to have (I think it is called) ADR approval. The aussie suppliers are usually ?licenced to make and test the lines, so they are approved. I'm not sure of the process, but there is one I'm sure.

This one was recommended by the bloke who fits my tyres. I have spoken to him, ages ago, about doing a new brake line for my V-Strom and he can/could do it "on the spot" if you make an appointment with him. I would try him first:

I'm actually looking at having complete new lines made up for both brake and clutch. Probably just as easy to fit.

I hope this helps.

I am in the process of getting the same extension of the front brake line.  I have made enquiries through a local parts provider here in Townsville (not Rising Sun) and have found I can get the brake line made, with connectors, extended by 6" for around $110.

Will probably be ordering in the next couple of weeks if you're interested.
