Geez Foxy - I was posting my tag when yours came up... :||||
Great grab mate :-++

Cheers, Diesel
-
Here is the Jetty at Port Macdonnell SA.....Sabie and Pockey with the 1300's on the return from Middelton 2013.
Fantastic little community with a superb cafe and great ride east towards Portland.

Seeing as we have no Fire fighters on this forum , it may take a while to pass the tag on
Not so hard, I work on a RAAF base, lots a fire trucks and planes as well.. :grin
-
OH Yeah, I am back
-
I should have mentioned the pics were taken sunday morning (19th) at wellington point & the fire truck was conveniently located about 20 meters away from the jetty :whistle
Seeing as we have no Fire fighters on this forum , it may take a while to pass the tag on :rofl
Ya still got Abe, and quite a few Members are Volunteer Firefighters, non paid doesn't mean non professional, non expert, non skilled and non Firefighter. :Whipped :-((( you should know better Foxy..

Good to see the point has been missed entirely. I took the pic in front of the fire truck because i know alot of folk here have access & can easily take a photo in front of a fire appliance regardless of their " PROFESSIONAL " status, thereby moving the tag along quick smart !
Hey Silver fox, your keyboard seems to have got stuck on the word professional.... Just thought I'd let you know.... Duncan might be able to help you with that....
-
I knew I should have taken a pic of the local CFS truck. 9:30 pm last Thursday night in front of the neighbours place.
Saw all these red and blue flashing lights, thought it was the boys in blue, but no; just the guy next door getting dropped off after CFS practice. Testing the lights I guess.
-
Oops I think we got in trouble....... :Whipped :Whipped :Whipped. We've been moved to the sin bin...
-
Hope someone's going out to get a Fire Engine pic this weekend.....
-
Start again folks - wipe the slate clean :o
Look forward to seeing your jetty pics :beer
-
All right guys...
Get to it. I just moved the pics on...

3 hours to take 2 photo's and having a blast doing it, and to my horror I have just realised not once did I stop for a Bakery fix. :||||
Must be getting old timers disease. :crazy
Ok.... get too it folks, ride till ya run out of road.

agreed, they dont make that kind of sign in QLD it looks different, does it still count?
-
I guess it so long as it say road ends I suppose
-
Roads dont end in WA, so we cant play... :(
-
C'mon wheres ya spririt....lol
These are more common than you think
I Found one at Kamala Drive, Pullenvale Qld just using google maps but the bike would be more fun.
Head out into the country folks, good chance to romance the missus and pack a picnic basket o:)
-
Never fear. I'm sure we can find one. That's what makes this so fun. The challenge
-
Bump.
-
BUMP yourself...
I'm still looking...hahaha
-
Time for everybody to come out of hibernation now the weather is warming up.
Surely we can find some completion to help play. :Chocies

i ahve been trying to find it, but that sign does not exist in Queensland the best i can tell...
-
You guys may be coming out of hibernation, but we're looking at putting the bikes away soon (another month or so) until next year as its starting to warm up :H
-
Jeez, guess you Queenslanders don't have much spirit unless it involves football.. :whistle
-
:clap well done sean, so is it just fruit or can it be a big potatoe, crab etc....
-
Mate,
At this stage we'll call it a big piece of fruit. I have plans to pick up a number of photos to have in store when I do the Wall to Wall ride next week. As a bit of a theme, I intend to make a number of small detours from the Pacific hwy, mainly to break up the monotony of the concrete strip. I have palns to go down through the Hunter and pick up 3 more and then down through Macquarie Pass. I will be meeting up with Tackleberry at Heathcote and we will be doing the last stage to Canberra together. Return trip through Singleton and drop in and see the kids at Warwick on the Monday before I get home.
Feel free to keep the thread moving. I should have something by the end of the trip to cover most categories. If no one adds anything, then I will periodically add something myself.
Let the fun begin. :think1
-
Great grab mate.
You could also post this pic in "STs in front of BIG things" too - looks like you'll OWN that thread in a few months! :rofl
-
By the time I get back from Canberra I should have another 11 official "big" items and a couple that may require some poetic licence, but worth a laugh none the less. I'll hold off for a bit when I return just to give someone else a go. But both threads seem to have lost favour for now. It was good to see STellar back and running on all cylinders.
-
An easy one today to get things moving... Electrical Substation
Best trip to Bunning's I've had of late :-)
-
The problem I have with the giant axe is, if it's unique then it requires participants to ride to a specific location to tag it. That's a different game called Far Tag.
The idea here is to propose a generic item. It might be obscure or rare, but not unique.
-
Yeah........ What he said..
-
The comment listed was that it was a cryptic clue. The challenge was to guess what it may be associated with. The intention is not to go to that exact location as this would be unrealistic. It appears that some people are taking this too literally and not being involved for the fun side of things.
-
Might need some clues with this one. *starts thinking*
was just gunna stick my axe on two sticks and take a photo of it, but I think there's more to it than that.
-
Maybe someone is getting the chop?
-
maybe it's not even the axe, maybe that's red herring
-
The clue was entered as being cryptic to add some fun to this thread. In the same vein as the previous photo of the Avocado, being called a piece of fruit i.e. a topic associated with the photo, but not necessarily the exact item.
The photo was taken on my trip to Canberra last weekend and I have just got around to processing them, therefore I did not consider them to be from an archive. If that is a breach of the game, then so be it let me know and I can withdraw the submission.
For those who want to pursue the clue, think of where the item is normally found. Clue: not in suburbia, and then consider how this will lead to another tag. :think1
-
Maybe it's a hatchet or a tomahawk?
-
The item is an axe, but it can be associated with other pastimes or activities. That is the cryptic part. I will acknowledge any guess that fits the three categories that I have in mind.
-

Ok I'm up for this...I say let the photo stand... I think I know what's need to be able to get this
-
For sure the photo should stand. As Sean said it is a fresh photo, and being cryptic gives us some creative license on what's next. Challenge accepted.
-
There is no problem with the photo standing :thumb
we are just trying to avoid photos that where taken 12 months ago being used, the idea is to see what you have to go and find, and do so, like when it was the fruit i was going to ride the 200 odd km up to gayndah to get a photo with the orange up there :thumb
I think Sean found a great tag! i have no idea where i am going to find a giant axe though....
-
I think Sean found a great tag! i have no idea where i am going to find a giant axe though....
That was my problem too.
But we're both missing the point. It's a different game to the one where you take a photo of an object with your bike in front of it. This game involves guessing the solution to the cryptic clues and then taking a photo of whatever the solution is.
-

Agreed, I am not to worried though, i think it makes the challenge interesting, as the photo tag challenge has been a bit quiet, I am thinking that if we look at the theme of the photo and put our minds to work we can find something.... :thumb
-
Well think of the Axe as a monument to forestry...
That's how I'm thinking of it as... so it's a symbol... so the next tag could be a statue of a Saw blade etc...
(If I'm wrong.... I need to know, before I head off in that direction)
-

I think you are quite right, i have been looking around for items in that theme to....

They said it couldn't be done.....
But they did not expect.....
DIESEL!
New tag up (I think).
-
What the F... seriously?
Diesel. Don't you work????
was that an archived photo
-
No not you thesilverfox i was referring to our illustrious leader
-
Marcus,
The tag is not about timber cutting, more about what would be associated with an axe. There are three possible areas that you could think about and I will give it to either. The previous clue being that it was not associated with suburbia.
:think1 :think1 :think1
-
:o wot tags?, wot fotos? :CB--
-
I don't mind cryptic photos, as it ads a bit of interest, so long as the tag is clearly stated cryptic (which this one was)
I think that why this thread was made was to talk about the photos and clues etc...
-
Cryptic photo should go in a new game thread.
If we are using photos that have been taken even a few days ago doesn't give the rest of us a chance to hop on the bike, find the tag and grab a new tag. We just go and have a look in our photo library kind of defeats the purpose of the game.
So articles like the axe are very specific and likely not to be repeated anywhere in the country, so some latitude should be given to a "like" photo such as Deisel's chainsaw photo. I thought anything like an oversize Axe, Chainsaw, Wood Saw etc would be acceptable.
And lastly, don't loose sight that it's a game, play by the rules, play nice and no one will loose an eye....
-
Ok Ok. The idea was to resurect an old game that no one seemed interested in. I'm getting confusing rule clarifications from the different moderators as to what is considered fair and fun. The idea of the cryptic club was to add some value to the pursuit. The cryptic clue was intended to be either an old item found about the farm or it could have been something from the local rural show (woodchopping). Given that was my intention then the photo of the rusty farm tractor would have met the clue.
Let the moderators adjust what ever they wish to and I will step away.
Sean
-
Next ones easy, in front of a firing range. Instead of getting the axe, get fired.
-
Oh crap we're back to the Axe again? hahaha...
Ok game on
-
lol seeing sean said it can be anything that cuts wood...
To keep this tag moving, the photo can be anything that cuts wood.
-
A bit of trimming has been done, now back on track
-
NEW TAG! I'm IT!
No archived pics in this game - you need to take two new pics to post. :-(((
Good luck. Now go ride! :thumbs
-
With a mostly fine weekend forecast for a lot of the continent - this tag could be under threat!
I suggest an early start if you're planning to raid and plunder!
Be safe out there villains! :thumbs
Cheers, Diesel
-
Ok... this one is an easy one...
-
Ok... this one is an easy one...
I thought so too, but I don't live in some isolated, broken down town that still treasures its long-dead petrol bowsers. Nor have I been into Victoria to find any. :p :grin :popcorn
-
No point making it "un-gettable". :-(((
-
Nor have I been into Victoria to find any. :p :grin :popcorn
^^^This Guy^^^

Is there a photo to accompany the clue???

Dammit! Someone just got the tag! :whistle
Good of that someone to keep this game alive. I haven't been out enough lately to find a match. Hopefully your alter-ego's new tag will go off soon.

Yeah it can't just be from the top of a mountain hahaha
It has to be a structure on top of a mountain designated as a look out...
example: Firefighter look out tower would work
-
Oi you 2!!! Some of us WORK y'know!! :well
Well done Kev.
That Windmill might be safe for a while..... or will it?!!! :Stirpot
Cheers, Diesel

Should be plenty of big boats out of water up that way :wink1
Have a good trip. Don't forget us in Sydney if you are coming though this was and have some time free.
Cheers
Dick
-
Well... that sucks... I just got back after a 4 hour ride (checked forums before I left, nope no new pics... game on I thought) sat down and was about to post pics of my giant windmill...
*starts quietly sobbing in my beer*
Nice grab Dick. Now to find a boat
didn't want to waste a good windmill pic, so here you go
(http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/marcusstringer/null_zps31612a80.jpg)
-
Well played that man :clap well played :clap
-
I think Dick cheated slightly by positioning a windmill on the bike :well :well
but a clever move at that, so game on.
-
Sorry about that Marcus. Your's is a great shot and a bit more "legitimate" than mine ( I won't concede though!) The nearest big windmill to me was 600km away so I rode 40km in the rain to the "Holland Shop" to pick up the minature. I was thinking on the way back that you or someone else might be out on the hunt and probably get in before me. I had the same experience last weekend, Rode for 2 hours to take a pic beside the Hawkesbury river only to find you had pipped me when I went to post it. Now we are square.
Cheers
Dick

but a clever move at that, so game on.
If I hadn't put it on the bike Brock you wouldn't have seen it! I am now the proud owner of a $6.95 Dutch windmill (C/w clogs and tulips) sitting on the shelf above my desk (next to my OZSTOC trophy from Blackheath) o:)

Tag.
-
Well done Marcus,
Hmmm! tricky but doable :wink1 I will be on your case when I return to Sydney next week (currently visiting family in Brisbane).
-
Dang! I saw that Dalek pic being taken in the video and commented there before getting to the tag thread that this had ugly potential! :fp
-
Exterminate......
-
I tag and up your tag :grin
-
The Wandin Valley Clinic "A Country Practice"
That's gold... Well played
-
Was going to use this pic for the next tag.....
But clearly there are NO dinosaurs in the pic... OR ARE THERE? !!! :well :butt
Great "grab" Mr Yewie! :clap
-
I've seen slimmer dinosaurs... :crackup
-
That building certainly brought back many memories of family night in front of the TV watching Syd and Mollie.
-
Well played Sargent... You'd be tank-full that's over, tank-goodness .......ok that's enough. :crackup
-
Wow that was quick
-
An idle mind is hard to amuse....
-
No flies on you Sarg, I thought my mid-week tag would be good until at least the weekend :well
Well done.
-
Normally it would have. But I had to go past the dinosaur museum and coudnt resist.
-
Tag!
-
Nice get... A tower crane sounds easy enough, but I think It'll be a little bit of a challenge
-
Piece of cake for a Tag Pro like you Marcus.
-
C,mon step up people and keep this one in Canberra.
-
That'll be tough to find a tower crane in Canberra. There's nothing that tall there, right. *see what I did there?*
-
Very few things rate as tall, but does the intended mark need to be in one piece?
(http://i1312.photobucket.com/albums/t525/sargent1971/images_zps9db7a9b0.jpg) (http://s1312.photobucket.com/user/sargent1971/media/images_zps9db7a9b0.jpg.html)

Nope. You're going to have to explain it... :popcorn
-
I was also a little confused biggles, But with a really big stab in the dark im asuming he was trying to be a little coy with the double L in " that'll ".
Maybe trying to perseve them as being the bases for a tower crane.....
Now remember I did say I was having a really big stab in the Dark.

Nar was just having a friendly dig about Canberra not having anything tall enough to warrant a crane that big, being it's cold horribly boring town... I mean city hahahahaha

Oh crap.......

Couldn't get the crane base in shot, hopefully no objections.
Next, a baked potato vendor, selling his wares from a mobile van/trailer. No ordinary food van will do, must be baked spuds clearly advertised.
-
Well done... that didn't take too long
-
Well played!. A spud van Hmm! that's going to be a hard one. Don't think I have ever seen one. Does it have to be a Man?
-
You see Spud vans all over the place at markets etc they're delicious
-
Well played!. ............................................. Does it have to be a Man?
:cuss Darn Political correctness, :rofl
Baked Spud Selling "PERSON" in mobile van/trailer :thumbs :nahnah
-
i know just where to find one, if i was not going to melbourne this weekend.....i would be going for a ride, if this is still standing next saturday i will have it!
-
You see Spud vans all over the place at markets etc they're delicious
And Marcus, timing on this one is key, as they move around, not always in the same spot on any given day. I know of at least three around Toowoomba. :eat
-
To get this thread moving again, I've tossed the spuds, so go and find any mobile food van/trailer.
-
Tag! you're all it...

Theoretically, that could be one of those little white crosses on the side of the road where someone has been smudged couldn't it ???? :spank

I suppose so... but I'm going to rule those not allowed... they are EVERYWHERE

Okay. So I read that as NO smudges allowed.

There's been some action over on FarRider FarTag which might have reawakened interest here.
The Eastern Kingdom is threatening a lightning incursion into the Western Kingdom.
STRay might be in the fray.
-
Tag.
NO archive pics allowed. Go for a ride dammit. Lol
New tag is beef or dairy cattle right up next to the fence.

New tag up folks. Helmet on. Leave pass secured (or pillion gets ready to ride). Take 2 new pics. SIMPLES!

Diesel, It's a bit sad when you need to reply to your own tag. However, I've found a suitable bridge and am waiting for a day under 40 degrees to go and tag it.

Umm Pete... You did go out to the Border for that pic, didn't you???
5. ALL Members can play this game from every state and even every country around the world under this format.
Whoever OWNS the TAG is winning. No ARCHIVED pics allowed - must be freshly taken photographs!
Probably a prize given for the most number of tags collected or something.

OK, the Bridge is a fresh photo this morning, and I will amend the State Border post with a new photo challenge. Apoligies for not reading the rules... :fp
-
You dont need to read the rules...
Biggles already has.. o:)

Fixed. A legal new tag is now in place. :thumb

Our first cooler day for quite a while, so off to a bridge we went over on the Middleton Rally Ride at Finnis, then a small blue with using an archived photo, so it was off again to a lovers lane lookout near home called Windy Point. Back in the 70's it was almost necessary to book a parking spot there on Saturday night. ;-*

HAH! I knew that looks familiar
-
Finally got around to answering Pete's challenge.
Unfortunately, the Mt Coot-tha lookout is only for pedestrians. I took a shot from the road, but the trees blotted out 9/10 of the horizon. A bit further down I got a reasonable view, but it always looks better with the eyes than the camera. It looks like a Beijing smog, but it's just because I pushed the contrast to the limit to make the buildings a bit more distinct.
Anyhoo, go find a transmission tower and see if you can get the whole height in as well as your bike.
Maybe if I'd lain on my back as if pulling the sump drain nut...

Nice Tag Biggles, overcoming the technical difficulties to get the money shot.
-
Tag :grin
New tag: Boat Ramp :thumbsup
-
Thanks for a good excuse to go for a ride two days in a row, Shiney!
Sorry to the country folk who aren't near a bowling alley. Maybe a trip into the big smoke planned soon?
Take the bike. :grin
-
Nice one Biggles :thumbsup
-
As holder of the TAG, might I suggest Stroppy's "non photo" be posted here, along with the robust debate such a thoughtful contribution will inevitably inspire. I cite the founder:
"In the name of keepin this topic "clean" from wandering comments, I have set up a "Discussions on OzSTOC Phototag" Thread to yibber all about it."
-
Nice try Marcus, but where's your bike in front of the bike with trailer?? :-(((
Amateur. :rofl
Come to think of it, Alan's photo isn't technically correct- it should be a pic of his bike in front of a bike with a trailer under a tree... :fp

I'm guessing that nobody wants to photograph their ST beside a Harley Davidson. :popcorn

I like this game. :p Are there any takers for this tag?
-
This is as close as I'm allowing Bluebird to get. >:()
Will that do??

It ain't "next to", but it's perilously close. :eek
-
I missed this tag, my bike is often photographed next to HDs, that's what most of my friends up here ride....

Will have to get a new one this weekend and start thinking of another tag
-
If you have a photo for the current tag, post your photo here.. http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4216.25 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4216.25) along with the new tag. This thread is just for any discussion.
-
We haven't had a new tag since May, so can we kick this game into life again?
You need to take a recent photo of your ST, complying with the current tag, along with your ST with a new tag.
Photo Tags are posted here http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4216.25 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4216.25)
I have the current tag which is an ST beside a Harely Davidson.

These Harely Davidsons... Are they quicker than a Rabbit Davidson?

:fp Yes, and less reliable that a Hardley Davidson. (Bloody Pedant!!! :grin)

I have the pic wit the Harley, just waiting for it to stop raining for long enough for me to go out and get the new tag.

You could do a pic with an ST in the rain. That will rule out all us southerners for at least a few months. :crackup
-
Nice easy one to be going on with. I'm not too proud to post a pic with Harleys ;-*

I've ridden around Australia with them, and some have nice riders. Hopefully your post will ressurect the game and get some STs out of the shed. :thumb I'm considering Bus Stations at the moment. :grin
-
I did consider a photo of an ST on tv as the next tag, but there's not too many opportunities for them :grin

Skite! :p
Good pic, but.
Even just the top bit of an ST looks good. :whistle

No old pubs in Darwin, they've all been bombed, blown down or bulldozed...... :well

I would if I could ride at the moment. Out of action for 4-6 weeks, in a moon boot with a tear to my Achilles :cuss :cuss :cuss :cuss

Hey Williamson, take a look at the rules for the Photo Tag Game at http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4216.0 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4216.0)
"No ARCHIVED pics allowed - must be freshly taken photographs!" to quote the rules, so I'm suggesting both your 2014 and 2015 photos fail to comply. I was caught out by this rule quite early in the game.

My archives go back to the last century.
Okay, so I've gotta get an ST pic in front of an "R" town sign or two, as well as pics of the ST in front of an old pub, and in front of something else.

Dang! This will have to wait until my next ST arrives.
I'm 9 days without one... :'(

Definitely. I left the Cruise Control, Grip warmers and Airhorn on- all too much trouble to remove.
My next CC will be all electronic after having the vacuum line pinch way too many times.

It took me quite a while to find a Temple in a suitable location, and really love the look of the local Hindu Temple that was secreted in a suburban backstreet.

Bugger, missed the one with the bus shelter, no tunnels or stone bridges up this way :cuss

The bus shelter was easy, and I was going to make my next challenge a Vineyard, but thought it would rule out everyone in the northern half of Australia, so it was a stone bridge. :grin
How are you surviving the heat? My niece from Darwin arrives tomorrow, and is whinging about our "cool" weather already, as she needs a jumper when the temperature dips below about 29.

It's quite chilly today, only 26 degrees at the moment, I've been in a jumper all day. We have a nice monsoon trough sitting just off the coast :)

A balmy 28o here today.
A bit short on stone bridges up here- Qld is too young. Might have to wait for Diesel- there's plenty in southern Tassie.
Or even Sydney has a few out west. We do have vineyards in Queensland- commonly out in the Granite belt, but actually one at Ocean View on Mt Mee and one on Mt Nebo.

I'll let the Stone Bridge sit for a while. If nobody tags it, I'll tag it myself, and then set a new and easier challenge to keep the game rolling.

All good mate, it isn't easy to think of something distinctive. We've all got traffic lights etc.
(In fact I've got waaaay too many if anyone wants a few). I'm a roundabout kind of guy. You know- use your own intelligence rather than some blasted electric box that can't see there's no traffic for miles on the cross road, but makes me wait for ages, then changes the lights before any more than 3 of us can get through! :||||
-
To keep the game moving, I'm prepared to accept a Stone Wall, instead of a Stone Bridge. :thumb
-
Bump! Can anyone tag a Stone Bridge or a Stone Wall? :popcorn
-
A stone bridge, and the Mighty ST's touring partner in Tassie a few years ago.

I trust you are enjoying your holiday. :thumbsup Unfortunately I don't think you photo will qualify, as the rules state.. "No ARCHIVED pics allowed - must be freshly taken photographs!" However it's a great pic what I think is "Spikey Bridge" This might be another challenge that will need to wait until you come home.

I spotted one that may suffice this week while in the cage. I'm going for a ride tomorrow so will take a pic then 😋

Must read the rules, in the meantime:
:spank
Yes, the Spikey Bridge is just off the Tasman Highway, a bit south of Swansea.

I'm out of the search for an "Embassy" photo, as there are no embassies in SA. There are however, a number of international consulate offices.

Embassy, Consulate or any old colourful, run-down building, two storey building will do.
