Title: Carb Sync ... Adj Screw location?
Post by: Piet on January 15, 2021, 08:33:57 PM
Hi all,  I am wanting to synchronise the carbs and in preparation I am wanting to know where everything is etc.
The problem I have is that I can’t see the adjustment screws.

I have looked in the manual and I sure think I am looking in the right place on the bike, that is, the between the two vacuum chamber covers.  Yet I just can’t see them.  Do I have to remove the air filter box to gain access?

I would not have thought so because I imagine the adjustments would be best made in as close to operational config rather than the air box not being in place potentially affecting the adjustment in some way.

I have worked it out.  The Honda manual makes it hard. Very hard.

This first picture is taken from the manual.  Please note:  The images in the manual are up-side down.
The adjustment screws are shown Top-side ... the vacuum hose that Tee's between the two carbs is down side.  In real life its the other way up.

Now please see the two photo's of the bike.

Left hand side

Instead of looking into the carbs you have to be looking down.

I hope this helps anyone else wanting to synchronize their carby's.

An yes it's a hell of a lot easier if you remove the airbox completely.
(I wish I knew how to imbed the images rather than links, but at the moment this is the best I can do)

It's actually easy...
you just need to click on "Embed Codes", go to "BBCode" under "Full Image", place cursor over the link and then select "copy".
Then paste link into your post...

You should end up with:
