Title: Ride-On Tyre Sealer and Balancer
Post by: Diesel on December 02, 2013, 01:35:54 PM
I have set up a deal with LSM Technologies to supply Members of OzSTOC with the Ride-On tyre puncture sealer and balancer.

http://www.ride-on.com/ (http://www.ride-on.com/)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tQ6hFqifE8#t=0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tQ6hFqifE8#t=0) Tire Sealant - Ride-On Tire Protection System (TPS) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mid3XqDlyk#)

This amazing product instantly fills a hole in your tyre from a nail or tack - before you even knew it happened, and provides extended tyre life through keeping the wheel constantly balanced and pressurised.

I am running it myself and can testify to how easy it is to add to your tyres.

Furthermore, our friend at LSM Technologies (http://www.lsmtechnologies.com.au/index.cfm?go=ride-on), Brendan Villiers, has offered OzSTOC Members a very generous 20% discount!     :clap :clap :clap

Email Brendan - tell him Diesel from OzSTOC sent you, and you can both work out the rest from there.... including how much product you will need, and how to use the easy online ordering, etc....

The LSM website doesn't seem to go anywhere when you are trying to look at the product.
How much do we need in the STeeds?
and
How much is it? (at general prices before discount)

Scratch that... looks like it website doesn't work on Google Chrome ...  sigh...
Works ok in IE.

For the ST1100 with standard tyres fitted we need 621ml ....  bottles come in 237ml ...  2.62 bottles required per bike...
Comes also in a box of 12 bottles = total 2.844L
So a box will cover 4.57 ST1100s

Are there 3.5 (or even just 3) other ST1100 owners here in WA that want to share in a box? If so I will find out postage and get one ordered.
Looks like a great product considering how much we spend on tyres.

Yorkie, this will balance your wheels as well so you can get changed at the local guy and not worry about balancing  :runyay

Just for the record, I am only running this product in my rear tyre as the front one seems impervious. That means 2 237ml tubes for me.

I have emailed to find out. Normal price is $15 per tube. We need 3 each. Will waste about 50ml over all.

Just wondering, Diesel. Wouldn't the front tyre run over the nail/screw/kangaroo bone first?

I am a fan Leo.  Having pulled out the worms, plugs, slime compressor and other puncture repair implements on the side of the road many times, it's one of those things you wish you'd done in the first place, and still be happily (and obliviously) motoring along.

I certainly know that the vast majority of punctures occur in the tyres' last 15% of its life. This goo also balances the tyre (through centrifugal forces) which should also enhance mileage.
Brendan is our contact at Ride On and is as nice a bloke as you can meet. He will be seeing me again.    ;-*

I reckon it nicely sets up the screw to penetrate the rear tyre!                :||||           :crackup

Simple statistics Lionel....            6 punctures:      Front = 0       Rear = 6           :think1

I am sticking with the odds.

To all other posters in this thread - I can heartily recommend this product (even though I get no commission     :|||| )

It's a funny thing that you don't even know when you have been saved - it works THAT efficiently. Shiney found 8 or so holes in one of his tyres when he changed it - and didn't know that he'd even run over anything!

For me - it is great peace of mind out in the never never, in the rain, at night, with that Wolf Creek guy following in his ute!

Hope this helps.     :thumb

Cheers, Diesel

Diesel has put it better then I ever could :-++ :-++ :-++
I also highly recommend it and agree that Brendan is a great bloke to deal with :like

The last time I had new tyres put on and had a new dose of Ride-On delivered they didn't supply the valve stem remover and tube :fp
So I contacted Brendan and he sent out the missing pieces express post and apologized on behalf of the dispatcher :thumbsup so give him a call :wink1

Next time I change tyres (if I remember) I'll do my own video of me creating a puncture to show that it works :grin

Cheers

Yep, bottles are $18 each and I think the ST needs just over one for the rear so it's going to cost $36 for the rear plus freight. I'm talking to guys I ride with to see if anyone else wants some before I put in an order. From the info you cant use it with a tyre pressure monitoring system.

I got a flat rear tyre which had ride on tyre sealer in it
It was only a small hole which I couldn't find till I pumped air into it
The sealant was everywhere but didn't seal
I contacted Brendan who didn't care and just told me it doesn't always work
So much for after sale service  :cuss

OK thanks for the heads up.
I usually carry a bottle of sealant as a just in case, yet to have to use it but in an emergency should save me. Only issue with the sealant is that it coats the wheel and tyre with gum which has to be cleaned out on the next tyre change.

On the flip side I have had a number of punctures that have been successfully sealed by this. I guess it is just a case of it not being 100% successful... I think I'll have to get a puncture kit as a backup for when it doesn't work :fp

I have heard good things about Stop n Go, little dear to purchase but apparently much more effective than other repair kits.

I used one of the car tire repair plugs on my last puncture and it started leaking after a couple of months causing a flat. I pulled the tire of the rim and installed a patch inside but unfortunately the wire had separated from the first patch and poked a hole in the second patch. I've just got another tire set so have been pumping the rear up every week till I get the new one fitted.

Luckily I always carry a set of Cargol Turn and go screw in tyre repair kit and a electric pump that got me on the road
The bike shops would not repair the tyre because of the high silicon content that motorcycle are now made of
But the plug stayed in the tyre for over a month until it could be replaced

I wouldnt use those, as they seem a bit hard and might wander around in the hole when on the road. Gummy worms are messy and not easy to get in, I have had the insertion tool break. Stop n Go are pretty easy to use, no mess and are soft and flexible. I had one in a tyre for several thousand Ks until I had it replaced..

Here is a comparison vid I found.
