What time ya heading' off from home Diesel ? Looks like I'm good to join the fray. I will be solo. I will join you on D'Bay Exit/Merge if that suits.
Cheers.

Missus Biggles and I overnighted at the Cougal Park B&B (southern end of Lions Road) last night, then drove down to the T, up to the Woodenbong T and down to Rathdowney thence home.

You guys are in for a treat!  Great sweepers, hundreds of corners, spectacular scenery, great roads etc etc...

Don't miss this outing.  One of our best yet.

OK - here is the start point (A) on map - be there 9.00am for a relaxed coffee and ready for a 9.30-9.45am ride out. This is a shopping centre car park with a coffee shop just inside.

Look for a shiny gold ST1100 and a distinguished gentleman with a Cheshire cat grin aboard it to know you have reached your destination.       :grin

Arrive Dugandan Hotel for lunch noon-12.30pm.

Here is the link:

http://g.co/maps/2s3hr

See you there Villains

Diesel

I left the above pertinent info in as a reminder.

See this link.....

http://g.co/maps/3yafr

I will be riding out of Caboolture BP Service Centre SOUTH BOUND at 0745hrs to be at the meeting point ride out time in Beaudesert, comfortably by 0915.

There will be a toll or two on this route. I will be riding at the speed limit - so work out what time I'll be passing your proposed entry point by dragging (B) to your entry location. Google will calculate (on the left hand side of the screen) how long it will take me to be there. Allow to be a few minutes early in case I see a FJR1300 that needs to be taught a sound lesson!      :whistle

The Lions Road is a great ride! Have done it several times over the years and have seen it in various states of repair (but generally good).  Rathdowney makes a good meeting place before heading off. The Border Loop railway lookout is worth a look, particularly if you can time it with the XPT coming through.  Another "interesting" place to stop for lunch is Nimbin, before heading east to the coast and then home to Brisbane up the freeway.
I'll keep an eye open for the ride date. I would like to join you.  (will be heading out to Lightning Ridge with FarRiders 25-27 May - probably see some OzSTOC's there)
Cheers, Dave

You'd prefer 150 traffic lights, one every hundred yards or so through the city?    :||||

Hey Harie. It won't take Diesel 15 minutes to get from the BP servo to the bridge so make sure you're early. We don't want a Tipsy moment, waiting, waiting, waiting, but alas. We'd passed before he got there. Howdy Tipsy.
Diesel. I'll wait on the D'Bay merge so just truck on by and I'll file in behind. I'll be on the merge at 7.45 so see you then.
Cheers.

This is a great trip plan :thumbs  I've ridden these roads a few times. I would add in a short divert through Mt Barney as the road winds through some really spectacular country. I'll be there and Marissa is a definate maybe  :o

I saw that turnoff to Mt Barney and checked it on Google maps to see if it was a dead-end.  Then the next question was whether it was sealed, so that answers my last question.

Yes its a sealed road, Bill. It's narrow and windy and requires caution, but the scenery makes up for it.

Here are the photo's from todays ride.
Marissa had an off today and hurt her knees. Thanks to everyone who stopped and helped to get her patched up and the bike going again. She was a real trooper getting back on the bike and riding to the hotel for lunch. Home safe and sound now and rested a badly bruised and swollen knee. marissa wanted to thank everyone for your support and staying behind her to make sure all was good.

We've saved that one for next time.
Tell Marissa there will be a next time.  You can't waste experience like that!   :-++

You were sorely missed ol mate - you have become a regular and fantasic member of our OzSTOC family for a while now - another good reason to bomb your joint next weekend!!!  Cheers.       :hatwave                :wink1

@Biggles - great ride report Bill and great pix - you will only receive the "mandatory" floggings over your recalcitrent views on the ride leader!           :law

@Barry - thanks for your fantastic photography and company today - Biggles put it best - " Thanks for helping to make the ride personal."     :thumb

@Marissa - thanks for "bouncing like a teenager" - we were all ecstatic to hear that the result was 'as good as possible' and it was a pleasure to have lunch with you and that cow you befriended! (that should get tongues wagging).       :eek

@the rest of you unlikely mob - thanks a bloody heap! That ride was spectacular and could only have been enhanced by the quality of friends you share it with! You all showed me (yet again) that you are folks I love spending time with!       :thumbsup

I have some pics to post soon - watch Biggles' ride report space soon Villains!

Cheers, Diesel

PS - Is it just me.. or does Marissa's OzSTOC shirt look waaaaaaay better for some reason?        :grin
